Nobody quite knows, but the running theory is David prayed and God answered his prayers. Just took a while.

A lot, long distance is crummy.

Is David stealing Rachel away to California?

Technically, yes. But Rachel has also promised David that he will be paying for "lots of flights back to Iowa".

In David's house; which is still currently being remodeled. It's been a long road and we are almost done.
