Maid of Honor
Ashley and I met on a random roommate app my senior year of high school and we decided to be freshman year roommates at South! The relationship Ashley and I developed went so far past friendship. Ashley is the sister I never had. We bicker and shoot it straight with each other, but at the end of the day she’s someone I couldn’t live this life without. Ashley is everyone’s biggest cheerleader and she loves with every ounce of herself. We have seen each other at such highs and at our worst lows. I will never forget the day I found out I passed my board exams she drove to my house within minutes just to hug me and tell me how proud she was of me. I am so happy that Ashley and I get to share the wedding planning process and stand next to each other on one of the best days of our lives. I cannot wait to tell our kids one day about the year 2024.
Maid of Honor
I met Sydney during my orientation at south Alabama freshman year of college! We initially were both majoring in physical therapy so we had almost all of our classes together. Just ask her about the time she cheated off me during a math test and still got a better grade lol. She had the coolest southern accent when we first met so I kept asking her questions just to hear her talk. We quickly became best friends and spent almost every moment together freshman and sophomore year. Whether it was hiking to class everyday, eating almost every meal together in college, driving across the country, hitting curbs, or napping in her bed every chance I got syd has been such a huge part of my life and my growth the past 7 years. I’ve never meshed so well with someone within minutes of meeting them like I did with Syd! She’s spontaneous, fun, and one of the most relaxed and chill humans you will ever meet. I will forever be thankful for not only my friendship with Sydney, but also that she introduced Brent and I!
Matron of Honor
Cynthia and I met in undergrad, but became close in PT school! Once we found out we would both be attending PT school together we made an instant pact to be partners, since for the majority of PT school you practice on each other! I feel like Cynthia and I are polar opposites, but we go together so well! Cynthia keeps me in line and always knows the right thing to say. She is my voice of reason and one of my biggest supporters in life. I honestly wouldn’t have survived school without her. Our bond became so strong during probably the hardest and most stressful time in our lives. It’s like God knew I needed her for this stage of my life. One time I thought Cynthia was going to have a heart attack before one of our practicals and another time my sugar dropped so low I almost passed out mid practical. We definitely kept each other on our toes! I was also so lucky to get to stand beside her while she married her best friend and I can’t wait to have her next to me when I marry mine!
Bridesmaid
Kaitlyn and I met my freshman year of high school when I had just moved to iowa. We quickly became best friends when she convinced me to join FFA with her. For over 10 years now she has been the most loyal and genuine friend to me, even from 1,000 miles away. I miss our midnight ice cream drives, bottle calf feeding, line dancing, avoiding math class, and harvest barn sheningans. Kaitlyn is the kind of friend you hold so close because you’ll never find someone else like her! I am so lucky to have such a special friendship and even luckier to have her standing beside me as I marry Brent!
Bridesmaid
Rachel is married to Brent’s best friend Ryan! When Brent and I initially started dating, Rachel drank a little too much tequila and told me that I wasn’t allowed to break up with Brent because she had never seen him so happy. It didn’t take long for Rachel and i to become close and now we even have matching tattoos! Rachel is the life of every party and one of my favorite people in this world. She is my Mexican and margs date for life and my favorite person to spend a day in the boat with. She always knows how to make me have fun even when it’s the last thing I want to do. We have so many fun memories together, but watching her become a mom to John this past year has been my favorite one yet. I’m so excited for our kids to grow up together one day and for my kids to call her Aunt Rachel too.
Bridesmaid
I met Zoe my 1st year of PT school and we have been close ever since! She is my library date, beach study partner, gym bestie, and the most calming person to be around when I am stressed. Zoe and I lived together during the hardest few weeks of my life and she did everything in her power every single day to put a smile on my face and make me look at the bright side. Even though PT school was so hard on us I miss seeing her everyday, our therapy walks after clinicals, and our Friday night dinner dates at whatever new restaurant we could find in Knoxville. I am so lucky to have Zoe in my life and have her continue to stand my my side as I marry my best friend.
Bridesmaid
Erin is Brent’s big sister, but she is also the best mom, friend, and sister in law in the world. Erin puts her heart into everything she does and everyone she meets. She is fun, easy to talk to, extra in all the best ways, and one of the strongest gals I have ever met. I feel like most people you meet don’t have the best relationship with their in-laws, but I couldn’t be more thankful to have Erin in my life. She has made me feel so welcome in the Smith family since the moment I met her. I hope one day I can be half the mom that she is to her kiddos!
Best Man
Ryan and Brent met in 8th grade when they were in band together. Ryan later introduced Brent to Boy Scouts and they eventually became best friends and Eagle Scouts! They fight like a married couple and tease each other every second they get.
Groomsman
Brent and Eli met soon after Ashley and Eli started dating. It didn't take long for Eli and Brent's bromance to begin once they discovered they both enjoy fishing and drinking beer. Brent once dragged Eli out fishing when it was 28 degrees outside. These days it is hard to find them not together on a Saturday in a boat somewhere.
Groomsman
Brent and Jared also met in band in 8th grade and they participated in Boy Scouts together. Brent's favorite memory with Jared in when they drove all the way from San Diego, CA back to Mobile, AL when they both got out of the military.
Groomsman
Rich is Rachel's brother that lives in Oklahoma! He loves all things computers and is the “tech support” for our entire family.
