CAR AND TRANSPORTATION Neither of us own a car and we recommend you don't rent a car. Parking is hard in Chicago, especially downtown. If you need to travel, Uber/Lyft/Taxis/Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) are affordable options. TRAVELING FROM O'HARE From O'Hare you can either catch an Uber/taxi from the airport or take the blue line into the city. TAXIS/UBER: These days, taxis may be cheaper than Ubers. If your Uber is over $60 to downtown, you might as well get a taxi. Taxis should run around $40/50 (before tip). BLUE LINE: This is a direct CTA train from the airport to downtown. It is accessible by following the signs in the terminal's baggage area. Most terminals will direct you to an escalator and long hallway that leads to the CTA Station. Right outside of the CTA you'll find kiosks with pass options.
