Open from November 18-December 24 this winter, this German-style outdoor market has become so popular that it has expanded to several locations in Illinois and Wisconsin. Treat yourself to a mug of hot glühwein, some schnitzel, and (Rachel's favorite) a bag of candied pecans while shopping for handmade ornaments and other specialty items. The market is open seven days a week. Friday and Saturday from 11 A.M. - 9 P.M., Sunday - Thursday from 11 A.M. - 8 P.M.

It felt wrong to give a list of places to go and things to do without giving a shoutout to our favorite coffee shop and bakery (which also happens to be the location of our very first date). Located right in the heart of Logan Square, La Boulangerie boasts a menu of phenomenal french pastries and sandwiches, as well as plenty of hot beverages to warm up with. The bakery is surrounded by dozens of superb restaurants and cocktail bars, as well as a vintage art deco movie theatre and lots of local shops (get some gift shopping done while in the area!).
This absolutely stunning theatre has a variety of holiday shows, movie screenings, and events throughout the winter season. (Hint hint: Santa will be in on Sunday the 4th!) Check out their website to look at showtimes and ticketing.
