Andrew & Rachel met at a 2016 Oktoberfest party hosted by Emma (the MoH). Andrew was instantly smitten, and Rachel was the only one present who didn't notice (blame it on jetlag!). The general response from their friends when they began dating in 2020 was "FINALLY."

Close friend of the groom, Amanda Sewing, is a talented photographer. Amanda had been asking to use Rachel & Andrew as models to add to her portfolio for months. It wasn't until Andrew took her along to help him pick out the ring that Amanda suggested using the photoshoot as the proposal. Groomsman Connor Sewing tagged along to the shoot and stealthily slipped Andrew the ring when Rachel wasn't looking. Amanda captured the exact moment Rachel realized Andrew was down on one knee, holding a tiny velvet box.
