We met on Bumble, a dating app that requires the woman send the first message, and Rachel captivated Alex with this opener: "hey what's up?" We went on our first date (Alex suggested a movie, but Rachel vetoed that so we settled for board games at a local bar) on February 2, 2017. The first thing that really attracted Rachel to Alex (besides his height and broad shoulders) was that he was a great conversationalist - easygoing and fun to hang out with. Alex immediately fell in love with Rachel's smile. Six months later we moved in together and on July 24, 2018, Alex proposed to Rachel by handing her a ring box and asking the questions, "do you like this?" and "does this fit you?" Lucky for him, the answer to both those questions was yes :) Our favorite thing to do is adventure together. We love to travel (Fiji honeymoon is next on the list!), work out at Soul Cycle (so much so that our #1 instructor is officiating the wedding!) and attend sporting events (go O's & Mountaineers!). We also love cooking (and eating) and we love trying out Whole30 and paleo recipes at home and new foods when we're eating out. We can't wait to see what adventures marriage has in store for us!
Thanks for supporting and celebrating our marriage with us. We're beyond thrilled to have you all join us in DC this May! You can expect an awesome celebration, filled with tons of fun, bright colors, great music (yes, we expect you to both sing AND dance and no, Alex will not be dj-ing), and even better food (we ARE getting married at a culinary incubator, after all). We chose this non-traditional venue in large part because it is a locally-owned small business that supports the growth and development of other locally-owned small business, allowing us to support a variety of caterers that use locally-sourced ingredients. However, we still want to know if you have any food restrictions so that we can be sure to accommodate them.
