Please make sure your passport is up to date and does not expire within 6 months of January 2026. This is crucial to make sure your trip is hassle-free.
Kindly RSVP by November 15th, 2025. We appreciate responses as soon as you know your plans - it helps us stay organized and make the best experience possible for everyone attending.
The dress code for our wedding is colorful formal. We made a Pinterest board for inspiration: https://pin.it/48tOMSFts Women: Long, colorful dresses. Men: Linen or colorful suits. Black or blue suits are also appropriate. Please remember, no white or shades of off-white. Also, keep in mind that part of the wedding will be on a beach, so we suggest a chunky or block heel instead of a stiletto.
Our wedding will be an intimate event with close friends and family. Due to limited space, we can only accommodate the guests specifically named on your invitation. We appreciate your understanding!
Our wedding and welcome party will be adults-only celebrations. To make things easier for our guests with children, we are happy to provide babysitting services in Mexico, so you can relax and enjoy the evening with us. If you are staying at the Fairmont, there will be babysitting services at the hotel, otherwise, we recommend Kangaroo Babysitting Crew (https://babysitting.com.mx). If you plan on bringing your children to Mexico, please let us know: Mac.rachel.wedding@gmail.com.
For our guests not staying at the Fairmont, it is very important that you tell us where you will be staying when you RSVP. There are a few things you need to be aware of: - If you are staying at Ocean Riviera Paradise, we will be providing specific shuttles for guests from Ocean to Fairmont on Friday for our welcome party, and Ocean to Jardin del Mar on Saturday for our wedding. Please look out for our email with details a few weeks before the wedding. - Access Codes: A few weeks before the wedding, we’ll email all non-Fairmont guests their access codes for the weekend (different codes for the welcome party, wedding shuttle, and farewell brunch). Please save these — you’ll need them to enter the property. - Transportation: You’ll need to take a taxi to the Fairmont, as personal vehicles cannot be accommodated. Be sure to specify the Fairmont, not the nearby hotel also named El Cielo. - Welcome Party, January 30: We suggest arriving around 4:45 PM as it takes some time to get into the Fairmont. Once you are in the lobby, tell the staff you’re attending our party at El Cielo. Golf carts will escort guests to the venue. When the party ends at 7:00 PM, taxis will be available to take you back to your respective hotels. - Wedding Day, January 31: Arrive at 2:45 PM to the Fairmont lobby. There will be staff onsite to direct you to the convention center where you will take our shuttles to the ceremony. After the wedding, shuttles will bring everyone back to the Fairmont, where you can catch a taxi to your hotel. - Farewell Brunch, February 1: On Sunday, join us from 9:30 AM–12:30 PM at GAIA Restaurant at the pool club. Arrive at the Fairmont lobby and tell the staff you’re attending the brunch — golf carts will take you over once again.
All details about transportation can be found on our "Travel & Accommodations" page on our website.
We have listed a recommended car service for roundtrip transportation from the airport to your accommodations on the "Travel & Accommodations" page. We highly encourage you to arrange your transportation ahead of time, as taxis at the airport are always more expensive. For all other transportation during your stay, there are taxis all around Playa del Carmen and Mayakoba. We recommend going to a taxi stand, as they have set prices. They’re cash only, so be sure to have pesos on hand. Playa del Carmen is also very walkable and easy to get around.
We would love for all of our family and friends to be fully present in the moment with us, so we ask that you kindly put your phones away and on silent for an unplugged ceremony. Don’t worry—our amazing photographer will capture all the special moments, and we can’t wait to share them with you after! Also, our venue does not have WiFi and the cellular service is spotty, so you will really feel present with us on the big day.
Yes! We always feel totally safe in Mexico and know you will too. Like anywhere, it’s smart to be aware of your surroundings. On Playa del Carmen’s 5th Avenue, you’ll likely encounter friendly street vendors trying to get your attention. Some may even say things like “Hey, I recognize you from your hotel!” or “I was your waiter last night!” — but this is just a sales tactic. A polite smile and “no, gracias” works every time. One more tip: stick to bottled or filtered water instead of tap water. Other than that, relax and enjoy—this is paradise!
