Question

How do I get to Camp Wing and around the area?

Answer

Duxbury is a quiet suburb of Boston roughly 45 minutes by car from Logan Airport. It's a beautiful setting for a wedding, but it doesn't have great public transit or reliable access to taxis/Uber/Lyft. You can get to Duxbury (or your hotel in Plymouth) either by driving/renting a car or taking the Commuter Rail (see Travel & Lodging for details). If you're staying at Camp, you do not need access to a car during the weekend as all events and meals will be hosted on site. However, you may want one member of your group to have a car in order to run errands, grab coffee or go to the beach / on an excursion during the weekend! If you're staying at one of our two reserved hotels in nearby Plymouth (Hampton Inn or Mirbeau) you can expect shuttle service to and from the reception on Saturday and more reliable access to taxi service in & around Plymouth. The shuttle to the ceremony departs from Mirbeau at 4PM and from Hampton Inn at 4:15PM. The shuttle will depart from Camp Wing to return to the hotels at 10PM and 11PM If you are staying at a hotel or Airbnb outside of our wedding blocks and you want to take a taxi to and from our wedding, we strongly encourage you to travel to one of our two reserved hotels (Hampton Inn and Mirbeau) to ride the shuttle to and from our venue. There is NO guarantee of successfully requesting an Uber/Lyft or a regular taxi from Camp Wing on Saturday evening (then again, we can always find you a bunk bed!)

Question

What is it like to stay at Camp Wing?

Answer

Patrick & Rachel will be staying at Camp Wing all weekend long and we would LOVE for you to join us if you're ready to revisit your sleepaway camp days again. That said, we've booked two nearby hotels for everyone who isn't thrilled by this lodging option! Those who do sleep at Camp will be in twin-size bunks in shared bunkrooms with 6-10 friends (see the Travel & Lodging page to sign up for your bunkroom!). Each bunk comes with a linen set including sheets, pillow and pillowcase, blanket, towel, and washcloth. You'll have access to shared bathrooms and showers with hotel-style toiletries provided. See the "Travel & Lodging" page to access the bunk sign-up sheet and packing list.

Question

If I'm staying at Camp Wing, when and how do I check in?

Answer

Guests staying at Camp Wing have two options: you can check in on Friday around 6PM and stay for two nights or check in on Saturday before 12:30PM to enjoy summer camp activities and get ready for the big event! When driving to Camp Wing, please navigate to the Ziskind Pavilion Parking Lot at 650 Keene Street, where a member of our family will help you find your cabin and your linens. This is also where the Friday night Welcome Dinner will take place! Camp Wing is a working summer camp that only runs weddings in the shoulder seasons, so we need to treat it with care and pack out ALL of our trash and belongings. For this reason, we will ask for your help Sunday morning to tidy your space and leave camp by 12PM at the latest!

Question

What are the activities I can do at Camp Wing?

Answer

We have access to the entire Camp Wing grounds for the full wedding weekend! Throughout the weekend, guests are able at any time to use the walking trails, beach volleyball court, baseball diamonds, soccer pitches, full-sized basketball courts, and plenty of recreational space for a variety of other outdoor sports including frisbee and football. The camp also has tetherball poles and foursquare courts. On Saturday, we will be hosting a "Bride vs Groom" kickball game from 10:30-11:30AM and we will have beach volleyball and lawn games going after lunch from 12:30-2:30PM. The large pond on site is unfortunately NOT available for swimming or boating (for liability reasons) but there is a lovely 45-minute walking trail that circles the pond!

Question

How will I get around within Camp Wing?

Answer

We will be using the entire camp grounds over the course of the wedding weekend. We will be renting a few golf carts for anyone who needs assistance getting from place to place! The ceremony is in a forest setting, the cocktail hour is in a grassy outdoor area, and the dinner and reception are indoors in the Bernard Alexander Dining Hall. The ceremony location is just a short walk from the reception area, but guests staying at camp should expect to walk between a quarter and a half mile between different locations.

Question

How close is Camp Wing to stores and restaurants?

Answer

The closest pharmacies, grocery stores and restaurants are an 8-10 minute drive by car at the North River Plaza at 125 Church Street in Pembroke, MA, and local favorite Mary Lou's Coffee is just 5 minutes by car at 759 Washington Street in Pembroke! We will be serving meals to all guests staying on the Camp Wing grounds between Friday evening and Sunday morning, and we will have some backup toiletries available for people who may have forgotten something!

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

For all events other than the wedding itself, wear casual & comfortable clothing to enjoy summer camp activities. For the ceremony and reception, we invite you to go for cocktail dress, summer garden party attire, or anything that feels celebratory to you! Wedding events will be hosted all around camp including a wooded campfire ring and the camp green, so we encourage comfortable shoes.

Question

What will the weather be like? What if it rains?

Answer

Temperatures in June in Duxbury range between the low 50s overnight and the high 70s during the day on average, but it is possible for temperatures to reach the 90s with high humidity. Let's cross our fingers for a clear and sunny weekend, but luckily Camp Wing has plenty of sheltered and indoor spaces to accommodate us if it rains on Saturday! Please see the "Schedule" page for rain locations for each event. And no matter what, we'll be celebrating the reception indoors at the Bernard Alexander Dining Hall. So, no one will be dancing in the mud (unless you want to)!

Question

What if I have dietary restrictions?

Answer

Please use the online RSVP forms for each event you'll be attending to inform us of any dietary restrictions or preferences that we should accommodate during the wedding weekend! We're excited to be serving BBQ from the American Barbecue Company on the north shore of Boston for the main event, but we will also have vegetarian and vegan options at that meal and will work to accommodate your needs at all meals over the course of the wedding weekend!
