Great question, there are a plethora of wonderful museums and experiences that are great ways to spend your time in the city. - Take a trip on the Streetcar, download the app "Le Pass" to buy tickets as well as see all the routes. The St. Charles route is a great way to see the beautiful Garden District. - The Presbytère museum is right next to St. Louis cathedral, the bottom floor is all about Hurricane Katrina and the top floor is about the history of Mardi Gras. You do need a ticket for entry, but can purchase on entry. We recommend it! - The WWII museum has great exhibits, be warned it does take at least a full day to get through it all. You do need tickets for entry, they can be purchased online or on entry. - Take the streetcar out to Audubon park, there is a great walking loop as well as playgrounds. - Mardi Gras World shows you the inner workings of Mardi Gras celebrations, including float making. They do require timed entry tickets for tours, so be sure to check out their website before heading out there. - Caesar's casino is open 24/7 and has a wide selection of amusements. - Stroll along Magazine street, there are various boutiques and shops to enjoy. - There are a wide array of walking tours available throughout the city. Some of our favorite have been hosted by Free Tours by Foot (https://freetoursbyfoot.com/new-orleans-tours/) - a name your price tour company serving cities around the world. When looking for nighttime entertainment, while Bourbon Street is always an option, we recommend heading towards Frenchmen Street. Explore the local jazz clubs and get away from the hustle and bustle of Bourbon.
Travel to and from the airport and wedding will need to be arranged by each guest. Uber/Lyft are readily available and easy to use! The French Quarter is most easily accessible by foot, so if you are staying in one of the French Quarter hotels, make sure to bring comfortable shoes if you plan on exploring! If you’ll be staying anywhere on Saint Charles Ave, you can use the historic Streetcar line that runs along the entire length of the Avenue and can ultimately take it down to Canal St where you will be at the edge of the historic French Quarter. The Streetcar is local public transportation, so you’ll get to live life like a local while taking in the break taking sights. Download the "Le Pass" app for a seamless experience buying tickets and seeing full routes. If you do choose to pay in cash, it is exact change only at $1.25 per ride. Keep in mind - New Orleans is a city that never rushes and is never on time. Don't go by the streetcar schedule, they come when they come. They are however a great option to sit, relax, and enjoy beautiful scenic views along the route.
We’re so excited to celebrate with you! When you RSVP, you’ll see that we’ve included all members of your invited party. While we absolutely adore your little ones, we kindly ask that only children who are direct family join us for the wedding and reception. Thank you so much for understanding — we can’t wait to share this special day with you!
We hope that all of our guests can be truly present with us in the moment during our ceremony, for this reason we are having an "unplugged" ceremony. Our photographer will be sure to capture all of the important moments! You're welcome (and encouraged) to use your phones during the second line and Reception and share them with us on social media and through messages.
In February, New Orleans experiences mild, cool, and highly variable weather, with average high temperatures around 66°F (19°C) and lows around 48°F (9°C). The weather can change rapidly due to passing cold fronts, so packing layers is essential. Given the unpredictable nature of the weather, experts recommend dressing in layers and checking the forecast right before your trip.
A second line is a parade traditionally arranged for funerals or weddings in NOLA. Police lead the parade and ensure the route is cleared of vehicles to make way for the brass band and ENTIRE guest list to dance through the streets celebrating the newlyweds! There will be a little walking so comfortable shoes are recommended as the streets and sidewalks may be uneven! New Orleans is an old city and some streets are still the original cobblestones! Guests will have favors to carry as well as a beverage to sip on. The second line should take around 30 minutes but the memories will last a lifetime! Feel free to use your phones and document the memories, you're the life of the party and travelers will stop to watch and sometimes even join YOU! A good second line needs energetic guests and we KNOW you know how to party!
While we have tried to make our menu all-inclusive to accommodate our vegetarian and gluten-free guests, if there are any special allergies or dietary requirements, please include that information on your RSVP so we can do our best to accommodate your needs. Do note that our entire menu will be shellfish free to accommodate Matt's allergy.
