The dress code for our wedding is "mountain formal." Think cocktail attire, with accents inspired by the mountain/outdoors/Western styles. Here's some inspiration: * florals, earth tones, jewel tones * felt hats, cowboy hats * bolo ties * boho / southwestern styles * fringe * boots, chunky heels, or other sturdy shoes * jackets & shawls for chilly weather Pinterest board for more visuals: https://pin.it/6LVdhiFPr Have fun with it! But if it’s not your vibe, simple cocktail attire works great.
Idaho Springs is a small mountain town, so Uber / Lyft and taxis will not be available. Please plan to utilize the shuttle or drive to and from the venue. We recommend renting a car at Denver International Airport so you can explore the mountains. Lyft / Uber / taxis are available in Denver proper, but not once you get into the mountains.
Our venue is called Blackstone Rivers Ranch (3673 Chicago Creek Rd, Idaho Springs, CO 80452).
Parking is plentiful, but you will NOT be able to leave your cars at the venue after the party is over. You will be required to move your car at the end of the night. Please make plans to carpool with a sober driver or use the shuttles if needed.
Expect daytime temps in the 50s or 60s, with nighttime temps dropping into the 40s. This can of course vary quite a bit so keep your eye on the forecasts. Snow is always possible through the spring. Take note of any potential inclement weather conditions as you make your way into the mountains. We will have heat lamps onsite for the event so you'll be cozy and warm.
We love your kiddos, but we request you please leave them at home for the ceremony and reception. We'd like to keep this an adults-only dance party - can't be scandalizing the little ones with our dance moves.
Idaho Springs is at 7,500 ft so if you’re coming from sea level, it is possible! The best way to manage this is to stay well hydrated, rest if you don't feel well, and ideally plan to acclimate for a day or two before any major physical activity (such as dancing).
