In October of 2019, Rachael had tickets to see an obscure "desert blues" band from Africa called Tinariwen - but no one to go with her! Luckily, she was able to find a random guy from the dating app Hinge who was willing to try something new. (Spoiler alert: that guy was Nate!)
Nate was Rachael's biggest cheerleader as she started her career in social work. Rachael supported Nate in pursuing his dreams to work in renewable energy. And in between, we've taken some epic ski vacations and road trips, explored Denver, and created a cozy home together.
Nate meticulously planned our Japan trip to capture the sakura (cherry blossom) bloom, and he proposed under the gorgeous pink and white blossoms at the national gardens in Tokyo. Getting engaged was just the cherry (blossom) on top of a trip filled with incredible food, immaculate Zen gardens, natural hot springs, and a tour of all of Japan's Nintendo and Pokémon stores.
While the point of this wedding is ostensibly to witness us getting married (and we'll do that, we promise)... it's also a celebration of YOU. Y'all are some top-notch folks who have shaped who we are today. We're pumped to treat you to a good time and a good cocktail.
