Cyril E. King Airport on St. Thomas (STT)
Once you fly into ST. Thomas, there are two ferry options to get to St. John. Option 1: Red Hook - this is a further taxi ride from the airport but a larger, smoother ferry ride that takes about 20 mins. This is $8.50 each way and runs till 11pm. https://stjohnticketing.com/cruz-bay-red-hook/ Option 2: Crown Bay - this is near the airport but is a 45 min ferry ride on a smaller boat. This is more for the adventurous folks who want the small island feeling! This is about $25 and you can view the schedule on the website. https://www.interislandboatservices.com/ferry-trips/crown-bay-to-cruz-bay/
If you’re staying in Cruz Bay, you likely won’t need a rental car, as taxis are easy to access throughout the area. However, if you’re staying in an Airbnb on St. John that is not within walking distance to Cruz Bay, we recommend renting a car from one of the following providers. And don’t forget... drive on the left side of the road! https://www.stjohncarrental.com/ https://courtesycarrental.com/ The island does not have Uber, Lyft, etc.

Yes. Sunscreen is very regulated in the USVI due to chemicals that destroy the beautiful wildlife. If you plan to bring sunscreen with you, the only ingredients allowed are Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide. All other ingredients are BANNED in the USVI, so we ask that you do your research when purchasing, or choose to purchase on the island. "Reef safe" or "Reef friendly" does not mean that it is safe for the island! Below is a link for more information: https://newsofstjohn.com/reef-safe-sunscreen-guide/
