Skip the restaurant, and pick up some clam chowder and French bread from the market for your stay! This has been our first night tradition anytime we've stayed in Bodega and now it can be your tradition as well. While you wait, head outside to the balcony and enjoy some complimentary entertainment courtesy of the local seals!
You LITERALLY can't miss it! This pink and white striped salt water taffy and gift shop has been a Bodega Bay staple since 1960. With unique (and wild) flavors of taffy, along with the classics, there is absolutely something for everyone. Stopping by here is a MUST!
There are so many beautiful beaches along Sonoma Coast's Highway 1. Be sure to look them up in advance (or ask us), as some of the beaches require paid access or steep trails. We recommend: Doran Beach Shell Beach Wright's Beach Bodega Dunes Salmon Creek
Despite growing up vacationing in Bodega Bay, I had never hiked Bodega Head until Stephen's first trip. It was on this trail that we realized we wanted to get married here! There are several trails to choose from, many of which are beginner friendly.
There are several other hiking trails in the area, from beginner to experienced. Take advantage of the beautiful landscape (but please be safe!) Here are a few of the top recs: Pinnacle Gulch Coastal Access Trail Bodega Dunes Trail Doran Beach South Salmon Creek Beach
Of course you're in wine country, so there is no shortage of wineries for you to visit within about an hour's drive. That said, if your stay is brief and local, I recommend stopping by Gourmet Au Bay for a beautiful view and unbeatable selection.
We aren't golfers, but if you are, this is a great course! From their website: "Experience the beauty and challenge of a true Scottish-style links course. Combining native coastal rough, rolling fairways, spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean, and undulating greens, this golf course is sure to take your breath away."
