Three words. Thats all it took! “What’s your secret?” Shawn: Right as I sent it that message my brain went into panic mode, I was scared she would block me or delete me. I was nervous! Rachael: When I saw the words “what’s your secret?” pop up in my messages, I did a little internal eye-roll. I was not looking to flirt with anyone at the time, much less pursue a new relationship! But the first real conversation we had, something about him spoke to me. He was the realest person I’d ever met. We were long distance for the first 4 months of our relationship. We met in a facebook group that had over 75,000 members from all around the world...so we were both relieved when we realized we only lived 4 hours from each other. After 11 days of talking every night on the phone for hours, we had to meet in person. Rachael: I got so emotional the morning that I was supposed to meet him in person. The feelings I had for him intimidated me; I had never had this connection and felt this strongly about someone that I had never met in person! Shawn: Yet again...I was nervous. I wanted to impress her. The drive down to her felt like forever. And about 1 year later, on April 28, 2018...we decided to take our relationship to a whole notha level.

Rachael: At the end of April, we were heading to a business event in Dallas, TX and I had the thought in the back of my mind “I wonder if he’s going to propose...”, but we were so busy it slipped away from my thoughts. On the main day of the event, we went out of the conference room with some of our team to take a bathroom break and take some pictures by the wall. After a few minutes of our little team photo shoot, a couple girls suggested that they get a few pictures of Shawn and I together. I thought nothing of it, and said “sure!” After us posing for a few shots, I see our ENTIRE group with their phones out. For a second I did think that was a little odd, especially when Melanie said “I’m recording”. The next thing I know Shawn is grabbing both of my hands, getting teary eyed, declaring I’m the best thing that’s ever happened to him, and then all of a sudden he’s down on one knee and everyone is screaming and hollering around us. It took me a second to realize what was happening, my heart was pumping, and I said Yes and leaned down to grab his face to kiss him! It was a beautiful moment. Shawn: I knew for sure I would propose to her in Dallas. During the first night, Rachael was at a Diamond training and I stayed with the rest of our team getting dinner and killing time. As we were driving to pick her up I broke the news to them, letting them know I needed their help. Of course, cue the screams and giggles of excitement. I was nervous. Before we went out into the hallway to take pictures, I was sitting there with my knee bouncing up and down like crazy. After we took some pictures and I grabbed her hands, I did get a little emotional - I couldn’t help it. I dropped on one knee and she definitely looked shocked. It was so exhilarating hearing the small crowd scream in excitement around us! It’s definitely been the best day of my life yet. And here we are!
