Are Children Invited?

We love you and your little ones- However, this will be an adults only wedding. We hope you understand this decision and will still be able to join us on our special day!

What is the dress code?

Answer

We'd love to see our friends and family dressed up for our big day! The dress code is cocktail attire. Please no jeans or denim. Additionally, the groomsmen party will be wearing traditional Scottish kilted attire. We welcome you to join in this tradition if you wish!

What is Considered Cocktail Attire?

Answer

Examples include suits, sport coats and dress pants, formal jumpsuits, cocktail dresses (mini, midi or full length).

What is Traditional Scottish Kilted Attire?

Answer

Typically consists of plaid kilt, sporan, knee-high socks, dress shirt, vest/jacket, and ghillies or dress shoes. If you are interested and have any questions regarding where to rent or buy please reach out to Phil or Sharon MacLeod!

Will the Wedding Take Place Indoors or Outside?

Answer

The ceremony and cocktail hour will take place on the lawn and outdoor patio- weather permitting. The reception will be held indoors. There will be a fireplace and outdoor heaters provided during cocktail hour.

What Will the Weather Be Like?

Answer

The weather in Northern California in December can be a hit-or-miss! Temperatures are typically in the 50-60s and sunny, but there is always the chance of colder, rainy days. We recommend packing layers for your trip and a coat or jacket to wear during the outdoor portions of our wedding.

Is There a Hotel Room Block?

Yes! We have a room block available for guests at the Holiday Inn Auburn 12/10-12/14/2025. The link can be found under Holiday Inn Auburn in the travel section. Additional hotel and Airbnb/VRBO options are also listed.

What is the closest airport?

Answer

Sacramento International Airport is closest to the hotels and venue, 30-45 minute drive. Other options with a longer drive could be the Reno-Tahoe International Airport or San Francisco International Airport.

Will There Be Uber/Lyft Available?

Answer

Uber/Lyfts are available from the Sacramento International Airport to hotels, but may be limited once in Auburn and Meadow Vista CA. Please see "Lee's Cab" under travel section for another local taxi option.
