Due to limited capacity of our venue (100 people) we cannot allow plus ones unless it has been previously arranged with us. Generally, whoever it on the invitation is who is invited. If this causes an issue for you, or you have someone you really, really want to bring, just talk to us and we will see if we can accomodate.
There is parking at the venue. At the venue itself there is spots for about 40 cars. So we highly recommend carpooling. If more than 40 cars show up, there is overflow parking, it is just a bit of a walk.
Whatever makes you feel comfortable! The wedding colors are pale blue, sage/eucalyptus and dusty rose!
We are having our wedding in August, but Whidbey Island tends to be pretty cool. Highs in August is 75 degrees, with averages around 65 degrees.
Great question! There are two main ways to get to Whidbey. Our ceremony is in Langley, which is south Whidbey. 1. Drive only. This involves taking I-5 to Mount Vernon and driving onto the island. This generally takes between 2 and 3 hours coming from Seattle. This is a good option if you have extra time! You can stop and see Deception Pass State Park and Coupville (where Practical Magic was filmed) and more! 2. Drive and Take the Ferry- Drive to Mukilteo and drive onto the ferry. The ferry leaves every 30 minutes and takes 20 minutes to get across the harbor. The ferry is absolutely gorgeous. Since the wedding will be in summer, if you are lucky you may even see some Orcas! Whidbey Island is known for them that time of year. The ferry drops you off in Clinton, which is just a 10-12 minute drive from our venue! The whole journey from Seattle to the venue, including ferry time is about 1 hr 15 to 1hr 30.
The ferry from Mukileto to Clinton runs very regularly in the summer. It runs every half an hour starting at 5am through midnight/1am the next day. So, you can leave the island after the wedding is over. However, in the summer, lines for the ferry can get quite long during the day, so plan accordingly. We suggest taking the ferry one slot earlier than you think. For example, I would plan on taking the 2:30 ferry at the latest for the 4:00 ceremony, but get there for the 2:00 one. The cost of a ferry ride with a car and the driver is $8.85. Additional adults are $6.25. Great idea! We thought making our wedding on Friday would be awesome because it would leave the guests with the ability to do an extended stay on Whidbey! Airbnb s and VRBO are great options as hotels can be run expensive in the summer, but here are some local hotels Saratoga Inn https://saratogainnlangley.com/ Inn at Langley https://innatlangley.com/
We have so many suggestions! Whidbey is great for food lovers, wine drinkers, nature lovers and more! Here are a few of our favorites Hierophant Meadery- The best mead we have ever tried! We are serving some at our wedding. There are unique flavors like Rose Cardamom, Fir Tree, Lemon Balm and more! We recommend trying the flight so you can taste multiple! https://www.hierophantmeadery.com/ Ebey Landing National Historical Site and Nature Reserve Ebey's landing has an amazing beach, rolling hills, one of my favorite hikes on Whidbey (https://www.wta.org/go-hiking/hikes/ebeys-landing) and an old fort to explore from WWII. See info about the whole area here https://parks.wa.gov/find-parks/state-parks/fort-ebey-state-park Check out downtown Langley - Langley is adorable and has some great shops and eateries. There is also a place where Orca Whales visit regularly and a bell to ring when you see them!
