Our Story

Rachael and Nathan met in high school. They really started bonding though, senior year while taking astronomy class. They were both huge science nerds and loved learning about our world and beyond. Eventually they received a big project on Saturn’s moons. While working on it at Rachael’s house they decided to take a walk. Night walks have always been one of Rachael’s favorite things, and Nathan said he was down to give it a try. What was supposed to be 10 minute break ended up being a two hour walk in the rain, illuminated by the soft lights of the streetlamps. There was a clear electricity between them that was hard to ignore. With such a long walk, that project did not get finished that night. But something else definitely began. They ended the walk slipping their hands together while walking through Rachael’s front door. That was twelve years ago, and lifetimes feel to have passed since then. They have seen, done and felt so much since that time. Rachael and Nathan have quite literally grew up together- graduating high school, then college, moving back home, starting their first real jobs, living through Covid. Nathan supported Rachael as she did Americops and struggled through burnout during years of nonprofit work. Rachael supported Nathan as he applied to, was accepted and (continues to) journey through medical school. That is a theme between Rachael and Nathan. Unwavering support. A sense of safety. Love despite setbacks. One of Rachael and Nathan’s biggest things is learning to grow together. This includes in the relationship- with things like communication – and with the world! Traveling and seeing new things is one of their absolutely favorite things to do. It is on their bucket list to see all of the National Parks before they turn 50! They love seeing new places and wherever they go, they learn how to cook something from that area! In New Orleans is was Jumbalaya. In Barcelona, it was paella. In Portugal it was Pastel de Nata. Rachael and Nathan love seeing new things and exploring new cultures. Rachael and Nathan are so excited to get married. They are not very traditional so they are looking for everyone to just have fun. If they could imagine their perfect day it would be surrounded by nature, music, and loved ones dancing, singing, being silly and enjoying the moment. We are so excited to have you be a part of that dream!
