Room 804, Bed 1

The one with the tractor beam and the not so sly nurse.

At this point Rachael had been working in the cardiac ICU for about 3 years and Adam had been working on Telemetry 8 for about a year. Though they both worked nights at Renown, their paths never seemed to overlap until one fateful night in July of 2021... As a rapid nurse, it was Rachael's job to round on the floors, follow patient's that transferred out of the ICU, attend rapid responses for clinically deteriorating patients, as well as code blues. At the recommendation of his partner (and official member of the self-proclaimed "Hot Boyz" club on Telemetry 8), Adam allowed Jed to call the rapid response nurse to come bedside and assess their patient in room 804, bed 1. Their concern was that this patient required a higher level of care and would need to be moved to the ICU. As this was not soon after COVID and the facility still required masks, the first thing that Rachael noticed as she approached 804, bed 1, was of course the patient! But the second thing was the bedside murse (not typo) with such beautifully kind eyes. The third thing Rachael could not ignore was Adam's mullet, which will henceforth be known as the "tractor beam." Others will lie to you and say this was what drew Rachael in, but it is important that you do not listen to them. As indicated before, it was his kind eyes that peaked her interest. With her professional expertise, Rachael discussed this patient with the critical care team and assisted in moving the patient safely down to the ICU. However at this point she couldn't seem to stop thinking about that nurse up on the 8th floor and what kind of a man would and absolutely could, rock a tractor beam in today's day and age. Her curiosity got the better of her and she decided to take the long way around the unit so she could pass by him again and "check-in," only as a good rapid nurse would do. It was later divulged that even though Rachael believed her behavior to be cool, sly and completely unassuming, that same Jed saw right through her facade. As soon as Rachael left the unit, he would tell Adam that the rapid nurse seemed to be assessing more than just the patients. Adam didn't seem to believe him until a few days later, when he received a text message from an old coworker named Amber. Amber had transferred to the cardiac ICU only about 6 months earlier. Rachael had precepted Amber to the unit and knew she had previously worked on Telemetry 8 and thought perhaps she knew this Adam character. It would later be revealed that Amber was a hopeless romantic when it came to workplace relationships, as she had met her husband at work as well. This was a a key piece of information that Rachael did not know when involving Amber. Rachael had asked Amber if she knew this Adam guy and whether or not he was single. Amber had said she wasn't sure so Rachael asked her if she could secretly find out, so as not to give anything away. Little did Rachael know, Amber would do the exact opposite. Not 2 days later, Rachael received a text message from Amber that said, "I talked to Adam and gave him your number, he'll call you in a few days!" Apparently Amber had interpreted my small request to find out whether or not Adam was single and translated it to him as, "Do you remember that rapid nurse form the other night? She's single and you should definitely shoot your shot! Here's her number!" Before our romance ignited, Amber did leave me with one bit of advice. Apparently during some casual night shift chats, Adam had confessed that the type of girl he was interested in had to be able to poop in the woods... Almost 5 years later, Adam now has two girls that poop in the woods, Rachael and Echo.
