Built into a vertical cliff face on Italy’s Mount Baldo, the Santuario Madonna della Corona (Sanctuary of the Lady of the Crown) looks as though it is nearly suspended in mid-air. This is one of the closest attractions to Garda Town.
This translates to the "Terrace of Thrill." You can find it above the village of Pieve, the highest and most evocative fraction of Tremosine for its views, and it looks like a concrete platform suspended over 350 meters high! Surrounded by an iron railing, the platform juts out beyond the promontory on which it was built, and allows you to admire the Garda almost suspended in the air. Built in the fifties, today it is located inside the Hotel Paradiso, which allows the public to visit it (it’s mandatory to have a drink at the Bar in this period where entry is staggered due to compulsory “social distancing”) and enjoy the view.
A wide range of outdoor activities are available at and up to Monte Baldo. The Malcesine Funicular Cableway is the easiest and most direct way to get to the top of Monte Baldo. At the top of the mountain, you have a few options. You can hike, visit the small alpaca farm (where you can even go on a trek with the alpacas), go to one of the mountain-top restaurants, and even paraglide down to the lake below.
The Busatte Tempesta path is a naturalistic path considered as a real "balcony on Lake Garda." It's a unique panoramic trail on Lake Garda that starts from the Busatte Adventure Park in Torbole and runs South. The first part is easy and suitable for families and children then continues with metal staircases fixed to the rocks looking like terraces on the lake.
The Malcesine Castle or Scaligero Castle is one of two most important tourist attractions of the Malcesine town on the Lake Garda. Its beautiful architecture, exhibition rooms, and the incredible view from the fortress walls make this castle one of the most visited tourist destinations on the Lake Garda.
The heart of the old town is the little harbor, the Porto Vecchio ('Old Port'). From here, narrow lanes lined with tourist shops wind along the shore and up the slopes behind. There are pleasant and picturesque waterfront terraces, and plenty of places to eat and drink while admiring lake views. Following paths to the north of the harbor you leave the hustle and bustle behind, and pass scattered hotels, peaceful cafe terraces, abandoned lemon groves and little swimming beaches. You will also find the Cyclopath right outside the city, which is a long walking/biking path to view the lake.
Playing golf with an overview of Lake Garda is possible on the golf course Ca' Degli Ulivi which is wonderfully located 3km above Lake Garda. The 18-hole championship course is surrounded by olive groves and cypress trees and on some holes it offers the golfer a wonderful view of Lake Garda. On the holes going in an east direction you will look towards the hilly foothills of Monte Baldo. Holes 2 and 3, as well as holes 16 and 17, will remind you of a mountain course layout. On hole no. 2 (par 5) it's advisable to aim a bit left on your tee-shot. Guests can choose to play 9 or 18 holes and rentals are available. You must book your tee time in advance. If you'd like to golf with others please feel free to reach out to Paige or Cory and they can connect you with others wanting to play as well.
