Sara and Michael met at the fair freshman year of high school, thanks to Sara’s cousin Jessica, and instantly became friends. With each “getty,” their friendship grew into something more. Michael helped Sara survive pre calculus, and Sara would hope to see him after her track & field practices. Following senior prom, Michael and Sara decided to officially date. College took them to rival schools, but that didn’t stop them. Sara cheered at University of Miami football games, and Michael dressed up for Florida State sorority formals. Together, they perfected the art of long-distance. They reunited in Miami for medical school and law school at Florida International University. Through demanding schedules, late-night studying, and the challenges of building their careers, they lifted each other up and grew even closer. Following graduate school, they moved to North Carolina for Michael’s residency program. They got their first apartment together and have been loving life with real seasons. They now enjoy cooking together, discovering new restaurants and filling their home with music. Over ten years in the making, their story is one of growth, laughter, and unwavering support—and they can’t wait to begin the next chapter as husband and wife.
