I was in Cleveland. He was in Milwaukee. and he was disappointed by the distance. Even though the connection was immediate, I respected where he stood and decided to keep it moving. Meanwhile, despite the miles, he kept calling. Every day. Showing up with clarity, intention, and just enough persistence to make it very clear that distance was no longer a factor worth mentioning. What followed felt effortless and oddly familiar — like we’d known each other our entire lives. So much a like and yet different. A built-in sexy best friend, with a beautiful mind, hilarious sense of humor, and a hunger and thirst for God, all-in-one. We both were smitten! Putting our cellular plans to the test with: Long conversations that stretched late into the next day, Daily FaceTimes, Virtual dates Cooking lessons, Endless laughter and goofiness Child-like banter and deep conversations about our goals, dreams, values and future Binge-watching Love on the Spectrum and we loved it. We felt seen! Somewhere in between, he started writing beautiful songs that captured my heart. Quantez being a man who moves with purpose — he pulled off a meaningful birthday surprise just two days after we swiped. Day after day making it clearer I was meant to be his wife. By the time we planned to meet in person, things had felt so right for so long that we were convinced something had to go wrong. I was fully prepared for him to be less than five feet tall. He was fully prepared for me to rob him and still risked it all. Cleveland has a bad rep from the outside looking in....but Kilwaukee knows a little something about that too! Just saying! LOL But when we finally stood face to face, it was exactly what it had always been. Easy. Safe. Full of joy. Comfortable. Pure. This love was unexpected. It was different. Easy, gentle and sure. Everything we both had been praying for! Truly - God sent though unorthodox in ways It moved quickly, yes, may even seem to some reckless. But when you know, you know. If love is sure, why delay? So here we are — with our feet on the ground and our heads up in the clouds, and we don't plan to come down.
