320 Guest Ranch Activities
Summer in Big Sky, Montana is pretty darn hard to beat—warm days, cool nights, no humidity, and lots of sunshine. Activities at 320 ranch include horse back riding, hiking and fly fishing lessons. Montana is world-famous for wild trout. Two miles of the Blue Ribbon Gallatin River, made famous as the setting for the fishing scenes in the movie “A River Runs Through It,” literally run through the 320 property! There's a private pond at the ranch, free for all guests to use, so you don’t even have to leave the ranch to enjoy a day on the water. All fishing on rivers and tributaries requires a Montana Fishing License. You can find more information on fishing regulations at www.fwp.mt.gov/fishing/. You can also pre-purchase your license there or 320 can help you do it online at the ranch. A Forest Service Trailhead leaves from right behind the ranch property for some great hiking opportunities as well.
Yellowstone National Park
To visit Yellowstone, established in 1872, is to experience the world’s first national park. Marvel at the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone and be awed by the many geothermal features of the park, including hot springs, mudpots, and geysers, such as Old Faithful, one of its most popular features. West Yellowstone, Montana is the western gateway to Yellowstone National Park. It's about a 40 minute drive from 320 Guest Ranch to the West Yellowstone Park Entrance.
Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center
At the Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center, see live grizzly bears, wolves, birds of prey, and more at this one-of-a-kind, AZA accredited, not-for-profit wildlife park. The Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center is open 365 days a year and the bears do not hibernate. Take part in educational opportunities including Keeper Kids (hide bear food), Wolf Enrichment, Safety-in-Bear-Country programs, Ranger Talks, a world-class bear museum, films, and presentations.
Big Sky Mountain Village
Big Sky attracts mountain travelers in search of adventure and exhilaration, scenic views, wellness and relaxation, guided hikes and more. Take advantage of the many activities and experiences that make Big Sky an ideal summer destination. Pop up to Mountain Village, the base of Big Sky Ski Resort for a plethora of activities. Basecamp is located in the Mountain Village Plaza, open daily from 8am - 6pm throughout the summer.
Ousel Falls Hike
Ousel Falls is a short but stunning hike in the heart of Big Sky. Along the trail, which meanders alongside the South and West Forks of the Gallatin River, hikers cross three bridges before reaching the waterfall.
