We're getting married!

One month after Andrew received Shawn's phone number from his friend, and a week after he finally got around to texting her, Shawn and Andrew went on their first date. They had dinner at Tico, where they shared an appetizer and both ordered the same Mahi Mahi entrée. After dinner they went to Red Light and then ended the night on the El Centro rooftop.

For their 6-month anniversary, Shawn and Andrew went on their first trip together. It was in Williamsburg that they realized that as long as they had good food, a nice bottle of red wine, and each other, life was pretty great.

Almost a year after their first date, Shawn moved in with Andrew (and his mom) in Bethesda. This, of course, changed very little for the three of them, as Shawn was already there nearly every night. Andrew did, however, need to make space in his closet. After a year of living in Bethesda, they moved into DC. Randolph Place quickly became home.

A lot of planning went into Andrew's proposal, and it paid off. Shawn's best friend Ashley flew in on the premise that her father was undergoing surgery after a serious injury, which of course, Shawn didn't question! Ashley arranged to meet Shawn for drinks at The Reach, an outdoor bar and garden at the Kennedy Center. Shawn thought it was an odd choice, but didn't question that either. Suffice it to say, Shawn was quite surprised when Andrew turned up! After the proposal, Shawn's friends and family revealed themselves and celebrated with the newly engaged couple.
