Jess and Max first saw each other across a table at a college orientation Bagel Brunch. Jess was a Nice Jewish Girl from New Jersey, and Max a Nice Jewish Boy from Florida. She thought: "He seems like someone my mom would approve of." He thought: "She's hot." The two didn't get to know each other until a year later when they officially became Mom and Dad to a new generation of Jewish "children," their "JFAM." Max decided to ask her to a formal, and after coupling up for various social events that year, they realized spending time together was a highlight of their calendars. They made it official when Jess introduced Max to her parents during a Duke basketball game. After dating for over six years, they returned to Duke for their five-year reunion; Max surprised Jess at center court in Cameron Indoor Stadium and asked her to be his partner in bagel-eating for the rest of their lives. They are looking forward to sharing their special day with family and friends.
