The Mehndi (Henna) ceremony is a festive event where henna tattoos are applied to the bride's and groom’s hands and feet. The dress code for this event is light-weighted Indian traditional outfits. Men could pick kurtas (jackets/vests optional) and women could choose from salwar/pant suits, elegant skirt sets or sarees. The vibe is loose and flowy. Light jewelry for women: earrings and bracelets/bangles. You can optionally add necklaces/pendants depending on the necklines. You might find guests in the mehendi color - sage green, which is optional to incorporate but a nice nod to the occasion.

The Sangeet is a night of music, dancing, and entertainment. For the Sangeet, you can choose Indo-western or Western semi-formal attire. Women can wear elegant gowns, Indo-Western fusion outfits, lehenga sets or even a stylish saree. Men can opt for tailored suits, blazers with trousers, or a traditional kurta pajamas with jackets/vests. The vibe for this event will be blingy and glitzy.

The Haldi (literally Turmeric) ceremony is another festive event where traditionally a haldi paste is applied to the bride and the groom to bring good luck and get them glowing on their big day. For Haldi, similar to the Mehendi event women can go for light weighted traditional outfits and men can stick to kurtas. The traditional colors for this event is the color of Haldi: yellow and orange - optional for you to wear.
4:00 pm
The Baraat is the groom's procession, where he arrives at the wedding venue accompanied by his family and friends, dancing and celebrating along the way. Lean towards traditional Indian attire. Women can wear sarees, opt for lehengas or one of the fusion options with heavy work. Men can choose light traditional sherwanis, which are long coats often worn with a kurta and pajama or they can opt for kurta pajamas with a matching jacket or waistcoat. Expect guests to be adorned in Pastel colors to match the overall vibe for the final event.
