Question

Where can I park for the reception?

Answer

There is a small amount of street parking in front of the businesses along the Highland Strip directly in front of Belltower. There is also a dedicated parking lot with an entrance immediately to the right of the building (north side) that wraps around a bit. There is also more parking for the Highland Strip around the backs of the businesses to the south of Belltower (turn right at the Chase Bank). There is a photo here with parking highlighted in yellow. There is also a LARGE parking lot behind the Fox Channel 13 News station as well as street parking across Highland. (not pictured) Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns about parking. Please note that there will not be enough parking for all cars. We highly recommend taking a rideshare service and/or carpooling. If you will be drinking, we encourage you strongly to have a designated driver. If you will be parking, we recommend you give yourself about 15 extra minutes to find parking and walk over to Belltower. Despite the lack of ideal parking situation, the reception is on a Sunday evening in the summer, so several businesses will be closed at the time and the University of Memphis will be out for the summer, so we are hoping this will help the situation. Please also note that some of the spots may require you to take a short walk to the entrance, so be aware of this when planning your footwear and your transportation. If you need to be dropped at the door and have one of our friends drive your car around to a parking spot, please let Lindsay know ahead of time. We thought a lot about it and decided not to utilize a valet in order to save money. We hope you understand.

What should I expect?

Answer

This wedding will be UNCONVENTIONAL and NON TRADITIONAL. Think of it more like a cocktail party with a couple wedding reception elements like a first dance. There will be lots of heavy hors d'oeuvres the entire night as well as cake and cupcakes. There will be wine, beer, and non alcoholic drinks. We are frankly expecting the venue to be pretty crowded with not a lot of seating for everyone. Plan to wear comfortable shoes that you can stand in. There will be a lot of space outside on the patio but it may be a tiny bit warm given that it is June in Memphis. Can I bring my children or a plus one to the reception?

Answer

We are unfortunately unable to accommodate children outside our immediate family or anyone not specifically listed on your RSVP. In the process of planning, we have had to be precise on the number of guests invited to accommodate our budget and venue. We hope you understand.

What is the dress code?

Answer

We want you to look your best but also feel your best! Officially, we will ask that attire is Dressy Casual, l but please wear whatever makes you the most comfortable! It may be a bit warm in Memphis in June so breezy and comfortable clothing is ideal. (Don't worry, there will be air conditioning and lots of fans!)

Will food and drink be served?

Answer

Of course! We will have an open bar with beer and wine, but no liquor will be served. We will also have some sodas and other non alcoholic beverages available. We are serving food from the best caterer ever, Across the Board Catering, with tons of yummy food, and will have dessert from Muddy's Bakery. We will have a couple vegetarian and gluten free options available but if you have any other dietary needs, we may not be able to accommodate, so feel free to bring a snack or do whatever you need to do to make your evening as enjoyable as possible!!
