Celebrate with us!

We met working together during the pandemic at Buster's Liquors. Charlie was working there after moving to Memphis from France in January 2019, and Lindsay started in March 2020 after being recruited by her mom, Patty, because she was left with changed plans due to the pandemic.. We began spending time together after work most evenings, usually over a bottle of wine. We would geek out discussing the wine regions, grapes, and climates that we had never enjoyed before, and would pour over wine books, reading passages to one another. We also found out we shared a similar taste in music and would stay up late blasting music and drinking wine at Charlie's rental house. We honestly just started hanging out and never really stopped! We officially began dating in fall of 2020. While 2020 was a difficult year for all the reasons we already know, we were able to fall in love without the world's typical distractions in a very carefree way. We also experienced quarantining together several times pretty early on in our relationship, so we knew we didn’t get sick of each other (even after being stuck in the same room for a week). Charlie bought his own home in January 2021 and Lindsay moved in with him in March 2022. Charlie later moved on to become the general manager at Rootstock Wine Merchants, which is owned by Lindsay's dad, Scott. We love to joke about how Charlie went from having Patty as a boss to having Scott as a boss. For Lindsay, it just feels right that she met Charlie working in the wine world, which is something that her side of the family values and shares, and is the environment that she and her brother Jake grew up around. Lindsay has also been able to get to know Charlie's lovely parents - his dad, Kyle, lives in Memphis just a few blocks away; Charlie's mom, Jennifer, is just a little farther away in Aberdeen, Scotland. We were able to travel there in January 2022 so Lindsay could meet her, which is a trip we will always remember fondly, and she has since been able to visit us at our home in Memphis as well. We now enjoy a full and busy life together in our fixer-upper home in East Memphis. We still enjoy hanging out over a bottle of wine, and enjoy socializing with our many dear friends in Memphis. When we have the time, we enjoy taking walks, trying new restaurants in Memphis, doing puzzles, and watching Survivor together. Charlie proposed to Lindsay on December 5, 2023 at our home over homemade lasagna and a bottle of Saint-Joseph. We are so grateful to gather in Memphis with our friends and family from near and far all together in the same room!
