Like all great modern love stories, ours started on a dating app—with some casual flirting and a deep conversation about Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. (Clearly, we were meant to be.) Ash canceled our first date (Zack took it well… eventually), but luckily, a second chance came along. Our grand romantic evening? Buffalo Wild Wings. Nothing says “this could be forever” like wings, fries, and mild first-date awkwardness. From there, things just clicked. We kept laughing, bonding over everything from video games to takeout orders, and eventually moved in together in September 2023. Now we share a home with our two fluffy, dramatic Pomeranians—Maya and Milo—who graciously allow us to live in their house. Since 2019, Zack had been dreaming of a trip to Japan with Ash and his friends. He and his longtime planning partner, Kyle, spent years organizing, re-organizing, and hoping. Then, on June 4th, 2024, at the end of the trip in Seoul, South Korea, Zack took Ash on a ski lift up to Namsan Seoul Tower. With the city glowing below them, he got down on one knee and proposed. Ash said yes (and was very surprised!). They sealed their engagement with a lock now fastened to the fence at Namsan Tower—because nothing says “forever” like chaining your love to a scenic landmark. After five years of planning, detours, canceled flights, and secret ring smuggling, it all led to the perfect moment.
