Guess what? The resort we're hosting our wedding in has so many things to do! By staying here, you can access multiple heated pools, hot tub, lazy river, water slides, fire pits (with s'mores!), FREE boat rides to and from the resort's private island (Big Hickory), multiple restaurants, and more!
Uhm.. Harry Potter World? Do you need any more convincing? Priya and Aman's first out of town trip together was actually to Universal Studios - thanks to their combined love for Harry Potter and rollercoasters, they did both parks in one day. Not recommended for the faint of heart! Consider extending your trip to our wedding by one or two days on either end to visit this amazing theme park! 3 hrs driving from Bonita Springs.
Naples is a beautiful coastal town in Southwest Florida, only 30 minutes driving from Bonita Springs. Filled with white sand beaches, crystal clear water and high end shopping, it's easy to see why this is a destination for many people. Akin to its name, Naples houses many Italian restaurants, in addition to the occasional Indian and Thai as well. Linked above was a cute Italian restaurant we tried while there.
Marco Island is a beautiful little oasis about an hour's drive from Bonita Springs, and 30 min from Naples. The picture you're seeing was captured by none other than the bride's mother, Sapna Gupta! Marco Island sunsets are unbeatable - the powdery sand/blue water combo make this a perfect getaway.
Tampa Bay houses a few major cities - Tampa, St. Petersburg and Clearwater (home to the beautiful Clearwater Beach, which Priya and her family have visited and highly recommend!!). About 2 hrs driving from Bonita Springs. There are many things to do including the picturesque river walk, Busch Gardens, endless shopping and restaurants, and manatee/dolphin watching.
It's Miami. I mean, come on. Miami/Fort Lauderdale was Priya's home for 4 years while she completed her medical degree. It's also where Priya and Aman had their combined bachelor/bachelorette parties! If you have never been - it's well worth a visit. It's full of beautiful beaches, delicious food, fantastic nightlife, and not to mention some of the fittest people you will ever see in your life. Highlights of Miami include South Beach, Brickell, Wynwood, Little Havana, Bayside. Fort Lauderdale is about 40 min from Miami and includes the famous Hard Rock Hotel, and often less-crowded/cleaner beaches. Both cities are on the eastern coast of Florida, so about a 3 hr drive from Bonita Springs. Linked above is one of Priya's favorite ramen spots in South Florida where she shared many post-exam treats with her med school friends. Eventually, she brought her future husband there and thankfully he liked the food too ;)
If you're in the mood for something more wholesome and picturesque, visit the Everglades National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, that spans over 1.5 million acres. Home to many different types of wildlife including alligators, turtles and birds - and not to mention tons of hiking trails.
