FAQs

The Wedding Website of Amandeep Ahluwalia and Priya Gupta
Question

Where should we stay?

Answer

As all wedding events are happening at the resort, we recommend using our group discount link (on the Travel & Hotel tab) to book a resort room! Take advantage of everything the resort has to offer - including multiple heated pools, water slides, boat excursions to the nearby Big Hickory Island (free for resort guests), snorkeling and more.

Question

How do we get to Bonita Springs?

Answer

Please see our "Travel and Hotel" tab for airport and travel information!

Question

Should I bring a gift?

Answer

While your presence is more than enough, if you would like to gift us anything, fee free to explore the "registry" tab :) We will also have card collection boxes at our wedding. We kindly request no boxed gifts!

Question

What should we wear?

Answer

As long as you feel beautiful and comfortable, that's all that matters to us! Indian weddings are multi-day, colorful events for which you can wear either traditional Indian outfits or semi-formal or formal Western outfits. Here's what we suggest for each of the events: - Haldi: something yellow, white, or orange that you don't mind getting a little dirty/wet (light lehengas, saris, kurta/pajama or a sundress, linen shirt/khakis) - Sangeet: colorful lehengas/saris, salwar/sherwani with vest, or semi-formal/cocktail dress, suit and tie - Hindu & Sikh Ceremonies: please avoid wearing white or black - traditional lehengas, saris, kurta/pajama + vest, or semi-formal dress/shirt and tie. Head coverings will be provided for Sikh ceremonies - Reception: bring out your BEST wear! Glittery/glitzy lehengas/saris, sherwani/salwar, gowns, tuxes In between the events, please take advantage of everything the resort has to offer - so definitely bring your swimsuit and some sunblock! Some good online Indian shopping options: Lashkaraa, CBazaar, Kalki

Question

Is there parking?

Answer

Because all events are happening at the resort itself, you likely will not need a car. However, self-parking fees for resort guests have been covered by your hosts should you decide to bring your car :)

Question

What will be there to eat?

Answer

At all of our wedding events, you can expect delicious food (both Indian and non-Indian) and, of course, alcohol (except for the Hindu and Sikh wedding ceremonies). Please let us know when you RSVP of any severe food allergies. We will have vegetarian and non-vegetarian options available all weekend. Also, there will be a hospitality room accessible to all wedding guests where around the clock water, coffee, tea and snacks will be available. Buffet-style breakfast will be available each morning in the hospitality room - details to come :)

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Temperatures can range from 50 low to 80 high in the Western coast of Florida during January. We definitely recommend bringing a light jacket or shawl for the evening, but during the day when the sun is out, you can comfortably wear what you would in the summer. Also - did you know that the resort has multiple fire pits/s'more stations? Come hungry!

Question

Can we bring our kids? How about a plus one?

Answer

This is a family-friendly resort! Please refer to your RSVP to see details of your specific invitation.

Question

Will there be alcohol?

Answer

Short answer: HELL. YES. Alcohol will be served at all of our events (except for after the Hindu and Sikh ceremonies). In between events, feel free to check out the multiple bars and restaurants the resort has to offer!
