One of the most magnificent hikes we've been on in Oregon! You will see 10 waterfalls on your hike and even be able to stand behind a 177-foot curtain of water. This hike is the best bang for your buck if you are only in Oregon for a short time. It is our favorite hike to take out-of town guests.
A great place to view Oregon's tallest mountain, Mount Hood. Located just 50 miles east of Portland, there is so much to do around Mount Hood. You can hike, take the lift for a scenic sky chair ride, or grab a drink at Timberline Lodge. We love to hike here in the fall to see the leaves changing color. If you are up for a challenge, try the Timberline Lodge to ZigZag Canyon trail.
The International Rose Test Garden is a frequent date spot for us. The garden serves as a testing ground for 10,000 different rose varieties. The roses are breathtaking and very colorful. We took our parents here when they were meeting for the first time!
We encourage our guests to drive out to the Oregon Coast while visiting here. It is only a 1.5 hour drive to see the magnificent Pacific Ocean. Oceanside is where we got engaged so it is special for us, with beautiful rock formations all around. We also love Pacific City, where we vacation with our Sessner Family to visit the tide pools and find cool rocks. Cannon Beach is also a fan favorite, with the beautiful Haystack Rock to see.
Another favorite spot of ours is the Columbia River Gorge. This vast river canyon stretches for over 80 miles separating the states of Washington and Oregon. We often hike here year round for the amazing views and waterfalls. Some of our favorite hikes include Cape Horn Trail, Latourell Falls Loop, Hamilton Mountain Trail, and Wind Mountain Trail.
