Rocky Mountain National Park

Rocky Mountain National Park

CO

Wild Basin Lodge is practically in Rocky Mountain National Park, so you should check out the rest of the park if you can! Trail Ridge Road should have beautiful fall colors this time of year and no hiking required! Our favorite trail is to Lake Haiyaha, which is about 4 miles and not too strenuous. Bear Lake is also a great spot for non-hikers but it can get crowded. You will likely have to reserve a spot for the area ahead of time, which can be done on the park's website.

Estes Park

Estes Park

Estes Park, CO 80517

This is the town that is closest to Wild Basin Lodge, where we will be having the ceremony and reception. Estes Park is known for Rocky Mountain National Park and this time of year should have fall colors and elk bugling. Elk mating season is from September to October so they should be plentiful throughout Estes Park. The elk bugle is the mating call of the males, and it is a very distinctive sound so be sure to listen around the area. Some of our favorite restaurants in Estes Park include Bird and Jim along with their lunchtime sister restaurant, The Bird's Nest, Himalayan Curry and Kebob, the Stanley Hotel, which has a great restaurant and a great bar, Post Chicken and Beer, Claire's Restaurant and Rocky Mountain Deli for quick sandwiches to take with you on a hike!
