If you were to ask Caden and Presley how they met, you'd be met with two different stories. One reserved for more traditional loved ones, and the other being what actually happened. Let’s begin with the former: Presley was almost a sophomore at OSU. She was heading out of town to visit her family for the weekend, and stopped at the gas station to fill up just before the town’s edge. Caden, having spent his own time studying at OSU, was just heading into town to visit some friends on campus when he caught Presley’s eye. Caden decided he had to find a reason to talk to her. He paid for her gas and filled up her tank for her. She shared her thanks, they stuck up conversation, exchanged details, and the rest was history. Cute, right? Now here’s what really happened: Presley, an incoming college sophomore, had just recently gone through the classic rite of passage of dealing with shifty frat boys on campus. “That’s it,” she decided, “I’m over dealing with boys.” And she swore she was done with boys for good. She had sworn she would never find herself on any dating app. If she were to ever meet her future husband, surely it would be through some meet cute where they bump into each other and accidentally brush hands trying to pick up the same book, or something. However, in an attempt to nurture her bruised ego, she decided it was okay to try out the good old fashioned Tinder, just so boys could tell her she was pretty, no harm in that. Caden, having spent the past year on his own, working on his fitness and focusing on self-improvement, decided it was time to start looking toward his future. When he met his future wife, he wanted to be the very best version of himself he could be. So, Caden decided to download Tinder. His plan was to practice dating, learn how to treat a lady right, and learn to become the very best partner he could be. He set up a few of his practice dates, but matched with Presley, and cancelled all of them. “Wow, she’s beautiful, she’s probably mean.” Presley wasn’t even on the app for more than three days before she matched with Caden. “He’s so cute. He’d probably be mean to me, he’s way outta my league,” she thought. And to her surprise, they matched! Pretty soon, they had plans to meet for the first time, much to both of their surprise. Presley made sure to let her family know she was meeting him, and kept her pepper-spray close by. “HEY, THIS BOY FROM THE INTERNET IS COMING OVER, I’LL LET YOU KNOW IF HE MURDERS ME,” her friends all receive. He comes to visit, after some unfortunate travel misdirection. Her apartment door opens, and their eyes meet. Both were immediately swoon. Suddenly, our “Mrs. Done with Boys,” was flustered and blushing. They talked and talked about life, love, and everything in between. He took her on their first date, and then she took him on a first date of his own. The first week they met, Caden told his friends he had “found his wife”. Since being together, they accomplished so much together, from graduations, home renting, entering the work force, adopting pets, traveling, and so much more. She encouraged him in his starting his business ventures, and he helped her begin to be paid to perform music for the first time. After a lucky four years together, Caden surprised Presley on October 4th, 2025 by taking her to the Norman water lanterns festival. Just as the water lanterns touched the water, a LANY song began to play, “I love you so bad,” and Caden was on one knee, ring box in hand. He surprised her with all of their friends and family hidden nearby, and of course she said yes. Presley and Caden believe their love was kismet - that no matter what path they would have chosen in life, they would have found each other. And so, with so much love, joy, and excitement, they cannot wait to celebrate this special day with you.
