Typically traditional outfits (saris, lehengas, lots of jewelry for women and kurtas for men) are worn at the wedding ceremony. Feel free to use those terms if you want to wear Indian clothes, otherwise please feel comfortable to dress in your "Sunday Best!" Indian weddings are bright events, so try to wear colorful outfits, but this is a loose recommendation.
The wedding ceremony date and time was selected by a Hindu priest, who looked at Chris and Prerana's star signs to determine the most auspicious time for them to get married. As some of you know, choosing auspicious dates are the baseline to set life events up for success and good luck. Chris proposed to Prerana on a Thursday (October 14th) after talking to her mom about what the date he should ask was on... you can decide if he did that fully on his own or if Aparna strongly suggested to him to ask her before he proposed. You can also guess whether or not she called the day of to make sure the timing was correct. Anyways, that is all to say: the Sumuhurtham (the most auspicious time during the ceremony after which the couple takes the next steps together to complete the wedding rituals) will be at 11:16am. It is common to see people walking around during this time, eating breakfast and meandering in.
