I know there's a lot, but try to ignore all the Starbucks and miscellaneous coffee stands on every street corner. Check out this cute hidden gem. A cozy, friendly environment with great coffee and identifies as black and women- owned. Recently introduced to the Bride by her and the Groom's wedding officiant, Xavier Woods (who knows more than a thing or two about coffee)
Check out this French patisserie! It's not your average cookies and cupcakes, that's for sure. You simply pick out what looks delicious to you and then pick up from the little window on the side of the building. You're bound to try something new, but don't go too late or you'll miss out on the best pastries.
Located in downtown Olympia and just so happens to be the Groom's favorite restaurant. It can be pricey but you won't be disappointed as the food, service and environment are all beyond expectations. If you're a burger lover, the Groom recommends the Cowboy Burger BUT with the Australian Wagyu Beef patty. Go big or go home!
About a thirty minute drive from the couple's home, but the breakfast here at Black Bear Diner is worth the drive- even on the weekends when there's definitely a waiting list. Oh, and the pancakes are huge. Almost as big as your head, huge. See for yourself!
This is the Bride and Groom's favorite sushi spot in town. Simple, casual and comfy with an amazing crew that recognizes and treats them like family every time. Besides, who doesn't love a good sushi train? The Groom would recommend the chicken fried rice, while the Bride's go-to choice is the "Lion King" roll with calamari on the side
Sometimes you just wanna go for a walk and there's nothing wrong with that- or take engagement pictures like the Bride and Groom did here. Brewery Park/ Tumwater Falls is a riverside nature park on 15 acres with trails, cascades, lawns and even a children's play area. Owned by the Olympia Tumwater Foundation, open to the public and free of charge.
Percival Landing is one of Olympia's three waterfront parks. The bride and groom love walking down the boardwalk and looking at the boats in the water. Sometimes they'll lay down a blanket in the grass near the boardwalk, read comics and enjoy each other's company.
Check out this adorable paint-your-own-pottery studio located in downtown, Olympia. Painted Plate provides a wide selection of pottery, paint, ice-cream, food and wine. So if you're feeling artsy, don't be afraid to roll solo or bring a few friends to get creative.
I don't know how you feel about candles, but the bride just can't get enough! Candles, scented wicks, wax melts and all that jazz. Elm Candle Bar provides over 70 different scents in which you decide on your Top 3-4 (which is actually pretty hard) and create your own scented product. "Doesn't that sound like Heaven?"
Pike Place Market is Seattle's original farmers market and the center of locally sourced, artisan and specialty foods. I'll admit it's crazy here; there's a lot of people and so much going on but it's worth visiting. You get a taste of Seattle's culture at this market and when it comes to food, there's something for everyone. The Bride and Groom took a trip to Pike Place Market for their last anniversary and tried a new restaurant and sandwich that had them wanting to go back for more. That could be you!
This place isn't what you would expect from a selfie Museum, but then again what do you expect from one? Although the Bride and Groom have never gone together, the Bride and her father have and judging by the pictures I would say it was a great time. The Original Selfie Museum provides you with quirky, vibrant spaces with themed displays and backdrops for taking selfies, so don't forget your camera.
Some may have already but for those who haven't, have you ever wondered what it's like to throw an axe? Thanks to the Mother of the Bride, the couple got the chance to experience this super fun and crazy activity for the first time. No need to worry, Axe Kickers has great safety measures and excellent instructors. Apparently the Groom is really good at throwing axes and hitting bullseyes.
