While these two didn’t always see eye-to-eye growing up (think classic sibling rivalry), their bond has grown stronger over the years, becoming a friendship full of support, laughter, and shared sarcasm. Her easygoing nature and big heart make her a joy to be around. Ashley’s warmth, talent, and sense of humor make her an irreplaceable part of the wedding day—and of life in general.

Libby met Katie on the bus ride to NC State's convocation the week before freshman year started. Katie pointed out that she liked Libby's shirt, and Libby pointed out that she liked Katie's pants, and then they instantly became friends. Libby and Katie later found out that their dorm suites were next to each other, making it easy to keep in touch. After freshman year, Libby and Katie moved into the same suite with different roommates to live closer together; however, this wasn't quite close enough for the dynamic duo. Junior year, Katie and Libby moved off-campus into Katie's townhome together, where Libby brought her childhood dog, Sarge, and Katie got her first fur baby, Marlow. These two girl bosses navigated the ups and downs of "dog motherhood" together for a whole year until Libby got her own apartment for her Senior year. After graduating from NC State, Libby made the hardest decision of her life: She left her blonde partner in crime behind to go to grad school in Texas while Katie stayed to attend vet school at NC State. The pair kept in touch and visited each other when possible, and both were overjoyed when Libby got accepted into UGA for her PhD, as she would now be within the same timezone again. After over 10 years of friendship, during which they supported each other through successes, failures, and heartbreaks. Little does Drew know, HE is the third wheel in this relationship...

Libby met Nicki while she was pursuing her Ph.D. at UGA. Nicki was completing her master's in the same lab as Libby. Nicki and Libby quickly realized they were the 'black sheep' of the Forestry & Natural Resources Department, as they liked to dress cute, wear makeup, and drink wine. With Nicki in a long-distance relationship and the time, and Libby having not yet met Drew, this turned into several 'girls nights' where Nicki and Libby would either go out to bars in downtown Athens, or Libby would introduce Nicki to popular chain restaurants, like Red Lobster, that they don't have in small town Montana (where Nicki is from). After Libby took Nicki home for Thanksgiving, Libby's mom basically adopted Nicki as one of her own children. Nicki was also the first one to give her approval of Drew when Libby and Drew first met. She took their first photo together and tagged along to Drew's birthday party only briefly after Libby and Drew had started dating. After finishing her master's, Nicki left Libby for bigger and better things, moving to Wyoming to pursue her PhD. Libby and Drew dream of following Nicki and her fiancé, Chase, to Colorado/Wyoming one day.

Libby met Bria while getting her master's degree in Texas. Libby and Bria were in similar classes and one day Bria offered to drive Libby home so she wouldn't have to take the bus, realizing the two only lived a few blocks apart. From there, it was instant companionship. After hanging out at a few more social gatherings through grad school and several more carpools home, Bria and Libby's friendship grew. After only knowing each other for about a semester, COVID-19 struct. Libby and Bria were hanging out together when the news broke that everyone should remain isolated from new people and not expose anyone they don't regularly come in contact with. Libby and Bria looked at each other and realized they had just become 'quarantine buddies', not knowing that Libby, Bria, and Bria's roommate Ember were now going to become the three musketeers for several months while the world shut down. It was this experience with Bria that proved to Libby that she would be prepared for marriage one day, as she and Bria seemlessly navigated deciding what to eat for dinner, buying groceries together, cooking, and basically living together 24/7. (Libby later found out that this was a false sense of security as it is a lot harder to decide what to eat for dinner when Drew is asking). As the holiday season approached, Libby knew she would not be able to travel back home to NC to see her family due to COVID restrictions. Bria's family welcomed Libby with open arms and now has her own TX family.

Nick is part of Drew and Libby's 'couple's game night' group. He and his wife, Anne Francis welcomed Drew and Libby into the group with open arms. The group has regularly scheduled game nights, a D&D campaign, and take annual trips to the Renaissance Festival together.

Ashley is Libby's oldest friend. The pair initially met in pre-school and became fast friends. In elementary school, Libby and Ashley would ride the bus together in the afternoon and get dropped off at Ashley's house, where Ashley's mom would watch them until Libby's parents got off work. The two spent their afternoons playing dress-up, playing with dolls, and terrorizing the neighborhood. As fate would have it, Ashley and Libby went to the same charter school for middle school, where their friendship continued through high school. From first boyfriends to first football games to going to prom, Libby and Ashley have been through it all at each other's side. Ashley and Libby kept in touch throughout college, going to schools less than an hour apart. To this day, Ashley is the only person from high school with whom Libby regularly keeps in touch. Libby was even a bridesmaid in Ashley's October 2024 wedding to Matt.

Brendan Vasarhelyi

Brendan is also part of Drew and Libby's 'couple's game night' group. He and his wife, Emily have become fast friends with Drew and Libby, inviting them to their May 2025 wedding. Brendan and Emily graciously host most of the game nights and D&D campaign nights, as Brendan's kegerator he got for a wedding present makes their place the best hangout spot!
