Libby wishes this story were more of a 'meet-cute', but alas, here we are. Libby had only been in Georgia for a few months when she decided to try her luck on the dating app 'Hinge'. As anyone who has used a dating app knows, it is a vicious cycle of downloading the app, meeting people who make you want to never go on a single 'first-date' again, deleting the app because it is so discouraging, then re-downloading it because you need to feel like you're at least trying to meet people. Drew was apparently at the same point in the cycle as Libby, as he had also recently re-downloaded the app around the same time. Drew came across Libby's profile and decided to use his "irresistible charm" (<-- Drew's words) to try and get a date. When Libby saw Drew's profile pop up, she noted that he had really nice hair and figured it would be worth starting a conversation. A few short hours later, they exchanged phone numbers and planned to get beers together the next day. Before meeting at the brewery, Libby had told herself that she would only stay for an hour and a half, as she had PhD work to do. That hour and a half flew by as the conversation kept flowing, Drew kept making Libby laugh, and they moved from the brewery to a restaurant nearby for a bite to eat. Before they knew it, it was almost 10 PM, and neither wanted the night to end. Drew walked Libby to her car, promising to call her the next day after work. Libby remembers thinking that this date was too good to be true and that she would surely never hear from Drew again. Sure enough, Drew called the next day after work, they talked on the phone for several hours, and planned their next date. The two have been inseparable ever since. They both finally met someone who made them never want to go on a single 'first date' again, but this time in a good way.
