We are often asked, "how did you two meet?" to which we answer, there is a short and a long version to that... The short(er) version is they met during college, however they were attending school 700 hundred miles apart. On a whim, Josh decided to take a road trip down from Champlain College to Virginia Tech with high school friends for a football game weekend. The following years, they made the annual trip down to Virginia Tech however Josh and Kelly were just acquaintances. After becoming 'friends' on social media, they each got more of a glimpse into each others' lives. Interest grew unbeknownst to each other, until a spontaneous trip was planned. Josh came to Blacksburg in the spring of 2018 right before her graduation. Kelly was preparing to start pharmacy school, and she was uncertain that it would be a 'good idea' to start graduate school in a long distance relationship. Although she had her doubts, God had a plan. Just a few weeks after graduation (and Kelly's backpacking trip through Europe), they reconnected and a trip was immediately booked for her to come to Vermont. Five days of boat rides, sunsets, and great food in beautiful Vermont ended with skydiving together out of an airplane and the start of their relationship. In the blink of an eye, nearly seven years has passed, four of which were long distance between Vermont and Virginia. Long distance ended when they both moved to Erie, Pennsylvania for Kelly's year long residency program. After that, she was fortunate to start her pharmacy career in Vermont, where they have lived ever since. Vermont is a special place and they are thrilled to have friends and family witness their commitment to spend the rest of their life together.
