We're getting married!

In 2014, Rachel was in her first year of graduate school and Prashanth was in his senior year of college at The Ohio State University. That December, Rachel and Prashanth were invited to a mutual friend's birthday party (both of them almost didn't go!), where they met for the first time. They spent the entire evening talking with each other, and have been best friends ever since.

After 6 months of dating, Prashanth graduated and moved to the United Kingdom for a year long Masters program, and continued on in Germany for an internship afterwards. Rachel was still living in Columbus, Ohio, and they maintained their long distance relationship for the next 2 years. In 2017, Prashanth moved back to the United States to Portland, Oregon. Rachel joined Prashanth in Portland in 2018, where they now live with their pup, Remy. Rachel and Prashanth love the home they've made together.

Unbeknownst to them at the time, Prashanth and Rachel's families already knew each other before Prashanth and Rachel met. Rachel's cousins, Lisa and Brady Cohen, live in the same neighborhood as Prashanth's family, and Prashanth's younger sister, Punita, used to baby sit and give piano lessons to Lisa and Brady's daughters, Dana, Lauren, and Caroline, when they were young. Rachel and Prashanth also recently discovered that they were delivered by the same OBGYN at Fairview hospital. Talk about fate!
