The Proposal

Care for a cup of coffee?

In high school, I asked Courtney to prom using the thing I knew she loved....a giant coffee cup! With the help of a few friends, I constructed a 3ft tall Starbucks cup with the label "Caution! Contents may be HOT! ;)" I set it up next to Courtney's car and waited inside for her to come out at the end of the school day. When she finally worked up the courage to open the giant cup sitting next to her car door, I popped out and asked her to be my prom date! She told me, "Of course....but I am more of a Dunkin' Donuts girl...." Years later in the height of the pandemic, I constructed a smaller replica of my larger replica and hid the ring inside. On an unassuming morning, I went and got some Dunkin' Donuts coffee. In the carrier, I included the small (poorly constructed) replica containing the ring, and when she woke up in the morning I surprised her with some coffee! I was so nervous that the words came rushing out of me even before she could turn around from letting the dogs outside; "EehhEWillUMARRYME?!?!?" Once Courtney figured out what had happened, she said "Yes!" The rest is history, and we could not be more excited to begin our lives together! -Kyle's perspective
