Like any modern love story, this one started on Bumble. After a few days of chatting, Jake asked Erin out and they met up at Linda's Tavern in Cap Hill. One beer turned into three while they bonded over their shared love of Game of Thrones and all things sports. Jake was a gentleman and walked Erin back to her apartment before asking her out again. While he ended up bailing on their planned second date (much to Erin's chagrin), he redeemed himself the next week with a date at Flatstick Pub, where Erin won Mariners tickets in round of Bingo, securing their 3rd date. And the rest, as they say, is history.
In March, Erin and Jake thought they could see the end of the pandemic, so they planned a Hawaiian getaway. While they were wrong about the pandemic, they still jumped on their first plane in a year and half to spend some much needed time in the sun. Towards the end of the trip, they went on an early morning snorkel excursion where they were lucky enough to swim with several green turtles. But that ended up not being the highlight of the day. After brunch and a well deserved vacation nap, Erin was getting ready to hit the beach again when Jake asked Erin to come onto the balcony to ensure he had the Go Pro in the right spot to 'capture a timelapse of the sunset'. In reality, with the tropical sun and majestic volcano in the background, Jake got down on one knee and asked Erin to marry him--to which she responded "oh sh*t!" followed by a resounding "yes!"
