Bethany Poucher

Maid of Honor

Bethany is my older (only) sister, one of my closest friends, and she is easily the funniest person I know. We spent our childhood riding horses, raising ducklings, and daring each other to do ridiculous things. Her courage, humor, and adventurous spirit have filled my life to the brim with meaningful experiences.

Danielle Jackson

Bridesmaid

I met Danielle my sophomore year of college, and we ended up being roommates during our junior and senior years. Throughout those years, we got to know each other, traveled together, and y’all, Dani is just one of the best humans to ever walk this planet. For 6 summers in a row, she joined in on our family vacation to my grandparents’ home in NC. And, when my grandfather passed away in 2019, she got in her car--before even I could get in my own--and she made the trip from DC to NC to be with my family. I don’t know what I would do without her. Also, she’s side-splittingly funny, and she brings out that kind of belly laugh that you didn’t even know was within you.

Emily Gordon

Bridesmaid

Emily is my cousin and, growing up, she was my built-in adventure buddy. We were born 11 days apart and, for most of our lives, we lived with just a short bike ride between us. We rode horses, caught fish, and SOMEHOW survived more than a decade of torture reigned down upon us by much older boy cousins (who were always armed with toy weapons).

Elizabeth Van noppen

Bridesmaid

Elizabeth and I met post-college while nannying for families that were close friends. A friendship that started simply because of proximal convenience quickly became one of the most meaningful and formative relationships in my life. We—too briefly!!—were early 20s roommates (think cheese and red wine for dinner every night) and have kept in touch over the many miles and years since. Elizabeth is one of kindest, most grounded, most whimsical, and most adventurous people I know. She has this superpower of cutting through the noise and getting straight to the moments of concentrated connection in every conversation. I really could not imagine my life without her strength, humor, and playfulness.

Kristi Taylor

Bridesmaid

The day I met Kristi, I had just returned home from a business trip, and she was playing dice with my roommates in my living room. I wandered into the den, learned the game, and began to play. Not two rounds went by before Kristi cleaned house, glanced over at me, and said, "You could have won if you knew how to count." Needless to say, her sharp wit and creative spirit drew me into one of the deepest friendships I've ever known. Kristi's loyalty runs deep, and I am so glad to know her.

Mary Beth Fish

Bridesmaid

MB is one of my oldest friends. Play SIMS and use AIM on dial-up internet kind of oldest friend. For over 8 years, we watched every episode of Grey’s Anatomy and read nearly every issue of Psychology today together. She’s now an amazing psychotherapist in Raleigh. I feel so lucky to share such a rich history with MB, and I’m so grateful to have her standing with me through every season of life. Fun fact: we both grew up with cornfields for backyards.

Taryn Zimont

Bridesmaid

Taryn and I met in an undergraduate biology lab. We happened to pair up to dissect a fetal pig. Yes, you read that right. It was gross and terrible and not really the best foundation for a lifelong friendship...or so I thought. We ran in similar groups for our remaining years of undergrad, but we didn't connect in a deep way until she moved back to Lynchburg, from NYC, in 2014. It's a typical millennial femship story: I saw that she moved back to town, I tweeted her, she tweeted back, we met for weekly margaritas, and we eventually moved in together. Taryn loves comedy, feminism, and social justice. Those are kind of her things. She helps people to feel known and validated to their marrow. I am grateful to be one of those people.

Tia Poissant

Bridesmaid

I met Tia the day she moved into our old apartment. Taryn, my roommate at the time, told me that she knew a "really cool girl" who wanted to move into the open room in our loft. It didn't take me long to realize that Tia is wise. Like, REALLY wise. She has taught me so much about the importance of saying no, the security that comes as a result of true vulnerability, and the intense and undeniable magic of sisterhood. She calls forth growth and action from the people around her, and I am undoubtedly a better person for knowing her.

Audreyanna Valle-Downes

Flower Girl

This is Hannah's angel niece, Audrey. We adore her, and we are convinced that she does absolutely nothing wrong. She loves reading, science, and Stewart's ice cream (if you know, you know).
