We met just as lockdown #1 for COVID-19 was settling in during May 2020. Since everything was closed and there was no where to go - we cooked at Nikki's house. A fairly auspicious start since we both love to cook. Nikki made cacio e pepe, Cody grilled steaks. While the world had seemingly stopped spinning, we were lucky enough to have the extra time together with fewer "real world" distractions. About a month later, Nikki had solidified her position as "boothang #1", and the rest, as they say, is history...

Cody proposed on the Ponte Vecchio in Florence, Italy at sunset. We celebrated with a ginormous bistecca firoentina (a giant t-bone prepared Florentine style) at Buca Lapi, one of the oldest and best restaurants in the City of Lillies. An obvious choice for those that know our mutual love of food (especially steak).
