Flight
The closest airport to our venue is Munich International Airport (MUC). This is one of the largest airports in Europe and in Germany. Several different airlines accommodate this airport, so you will have many options. If you need help, please refer to the travel tips and tricks section. For cheaper rates, look for other airports including Berlin, Dusseldorf, and Frankfurt. Trains and small puddle jumper planes can all reach Munich within a few hours of leaving these other various locations. Remember to leave a couple days gap between your arrival and the wedding in case your flight is delayed or canceled.
Train
There is a direct train that will take you from downtown Munich to the ski lifts. These ski lifts will take you up the mountain to the lodge. Don't worry about cost for the lift, we've already taken care of that for you. Please be at the lift ready to go at 2pm. The last lift is at 4pm. For a step-by-step guide on getting to the Kreuzjochbahn lifts from Central Munich, please see the google doc below: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1oWADk14-7oaszP6bv1NamFVPvzJNNO8JWZxakG1feI0/edit?usp=sharing
Hotel
We've reserved the lodge exclusively for us and our wedding guests for 2 days, June 7 - June 9, 2022. Guests may be sharing rooms with other guests, as there are only 10 total rooms in the lodge. However, everyone will get a comfy bed and the rooms won't be too crowded, so don't worry. You do not need to reach out and reserve anything for this. Sleeping arrangements will be pre-determined.
Travel Note
***Look for flights early: You may be able to find great deals, especially around Black Friday. ***Use discount sites: Hopper, Kayak, Priceline, CheapOAir, etc. ***Go straight to the source: Go to the airline's website. Sometimes your flight is actually cheaper there than the price advertised on another site. ***Book Round Trip or 2 One Ways: Try looking up flight options both ways: round trip and 2 one ways. See what you find. ***Fly into another country or airport: Flights in and out of Germany aren't terribly expensive, but you may save money by flying into another country or different part of Germany, and then taking a smaller, cheaper flight into Munich. You can even take a bus or train from one of several countries bordering Germany! ***Look at various days of the week: Some days are more expensive for flights. Also do your research on various days. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are good days for flight research.
