Question

How do we RSVP?

Answer

You can RSVP on the website (see tab "RSVP") or you can call us: Amanda (815-900-4702) or John (815-378-7219).

Question

What are the COVID-19 policies?

Answer

Due to COVID-19, we're following Germany's protocols and requiring all attendees be vaccinated. At the moment, masks will not be required while in the lodge, but will be required on the ski lift to get to the lodge. Please have a KN-95 mask or an FFP2 mask as many places in Germany may only allow this type of mask.

Question

How do I get from Munich to the Kreuzjochbahn lifts?

Answer

Please review the google doc with the link below for step-by-step instructions: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1oWADk14-7oaszP6bv1NamFVPvzJNNO8JWZxakG1feI0/edit?usp=sharing

Question

What happens if I show up late to the lift?

Answer

On June 7th, the lift departs at 3pm and the last lift for the day is departs at 4pm. If you miss this lift, the only option is to wait until morning for the next lift, or we can potentially pay $250 to have the lodge Jeep make the trek down the mountain to get you. Please do not be late for the lift. Try to be in the town early, if not a day early to make sure you're able to get to where you need to be. We have already taken care of the ticket price for your lift.

Question

Do I need to know German when I visit Germany?

Answer

Technical Answer: No, most Germans do speak English. Personal Answer: Yes. At least a little bit. Although most Germans do speak some English, knowing simple words and phrases (especially "Please" or "Thank you") will get you a long way. Politeness is important in their culture, and being in their country and saying at least a couple phrases will definitely make it easier for you. For helpful words and phrases, please refer to the Google Docs link below: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Yq5st9mVUKTIQA2I8HRjBbv6F__Kx9YaOGtcMWSaNyo/edit?usp=sharing

Question

I have a dietary need / restriction. What should I do about this?

Answer

Contact Amanda or John with your dietary needs and they will be communicated to the staff.

Question

What do I need to pay for?

Answer

Your stay at the lodge has been taken care of as a thank you to all of our guests who have traveled so far to celebrate with us. This cost includes your room/stay at the lodge, your round trip lift ticket, the use of the Alpin Spa (excluding massages and services), and all of your food and drinks during meal times. If you would like additional drinks during the day (ex: coffee, soda, tea, etc.) this will be available for purchase and can be added to your room tab so you can pay at the end before you leave. All drinks during the meals and during the reception will be taken care of by John and Amanda (including beer and wine, excluding liquor and cocktails). Any liquor or cocktails can be purchased individually by the guests and added to their own room tab to pay at the end of their stay.

Question

Can I choose my own room?

Answer

Due to the limited number of rooms and the fact that we're having the maximum number of guests allowed at the lodge, rooms have been predetermined so that you are staying with people you know and our guests can all be comfortable and have the space they need. If you have a specific rooming request or need, please reach out to Amanda or John so we can accommodate that for you. Room assignments will be available when arriving at the lodge. The name of the room will also be used as your tab for additional purchases you may want to make during your stay at the lodge. The tab will be due before checking out on June 9th.

Question

Handicaps / Limitations

Answer

The lift will drop off all of our guests relatively close to the lodge, but there will be a small walk from the lift to the lodge. The walk is only 550 meters (0.35 miles) and will take an average of 10 minutes. If you have a physical limitation and cannot make this trek, please reach out to Amanda or John and we will accommodate you. The lodge is pretty spacious, but there are stairs and no elevator. All sleeping assignments will be upstairs, so the ability to climb a flight of stairs will be a necessity. The lodge is not wheelchair accessible or wheelchair friendly.
