The Sangeet & Jaggo is when the party begins! The term Jaggo translates to "wake up". The word “Sangeet" means music, but when it is used as a term to describe a celebratory event during an Indian wedding, it translates to Music Night or Musical party. This musical night is a way for the two families and friends to come together and celebrate before the big day.

Baraat is an Indian wedding tradition where the groom, accompanied by his family and friends, dance all the way to the bride’s doorstep or wedding venue. In other words baraat is an Indian wedding ceremony where the groom announces to the world that he has come to take the bride with him.

Milni Ceremony is a part of Hindu and Sikh weddings and it is held before the marriage rituals begin. The ceremony marks the unification of the two families. Once the groom arrives from the Baraat procession, he will be welcomed by the closest relatives of the bride who bless him with rose water, while offering him Shagun, a token of good luck. The families exchange flower garlands to highlight the bond ultimately signifying two families becoming one. * Shuttle transportation will be provided from Embassy Suites to the Gurdwara at 10 am.
11:30 am - 12:30 pm
This event is traditional Indian attire. Guests will be asked to cover their heads in the Gurdwara. A ramal, or scarf, will be provided.
Anand Karaj, a Sikh wedding ceremony, is a sacred and joyful union that signifies the love and devotion between two individuals. Anand Karaj means "Happy Union" and represents the spiritual and emotional bond between two souls.
