We recommend flying directly into Dublin using any major airline of your choice. Aer Lingus is Ireland's airline that has direct flights from many major US cities to Dublin. You can typically find the best flight deals for Aer Lingus approximately 6 months from the date of travel.

Shuttle

Dublin to Cabra Castle

May 24, 2025 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm

To alleviate the need for all guests to rent cars, we will be providing shuttle buses from Dublin to Kingscourt the day prior to the wedding. The shuttle will be departing The College Green Hotel in Dublin at 2:30PM, making a stop at the Shirley Arms hotel and arriving at Cabra by 4:00PM. There will be the ability to RSVP if you would like to utilize these shuttles. Once RSVPs are complete, we will share more pickup details. If you are unable to take the shuttle but do not wish to rent a car, you can also utilize a taxi service or Uber to get to Kingscourt.

Hotels in Dublin

Dublin is a great walking city with lots to see and do. We will be staying at the College Green Hotel located at College Green, Westmoreland St, Dublin, D02 HR67, Ireland. Feel free to join us there, or there are numerous hotels in the area that will be accessible to any of the events taking place in Dublin. We recommend staying near the Ha'Penny Bridge on either side of the Liffey River. Temple Bar area is fun, but can be a bit noisy with all the pubs in the area. There is also quite a few hotels near St. Stephen's Green, which is a lovely area that is walkable to the sites, while also being a bit quieter.

Rental Cars and Driving in Ireland

It may be convenient to rent a car, especially if you're planning to explore more of the Emerald Isle before or after the wedding. With that said, we want all of our guests to be safe so keep some of the following things in mind: - In Ireland, you will be driving on the opposite side of the road - The driver's seat is on the right side (passengers seat) - Most rental companies largely offer manual cars, please make sure you know how to switch gears using the left hand or book early to request automatic transmission! - While there is plenty of interstate, there is also lots of one lane back country roads to navigate - Always keep on the left hand side of the road! - If you choose to rent a car, we highly encourage insurance... and most places will also encourage this as soon as they hear your American accent ;)

The Shirley Arms Hotel

Shirley Arms Hotel is a short drive from Cabra Castle into Carrickmacross and down the road from our Welcome event. Centrally located to all local eateries, pubs and other shops. If you are interested in booking at the Shirley Arms Hotel, please contact them directly to manage your booking. If you are on the waitlist for a room at Cabra, please proceed with booking a room at the Shirley Arms Hotel. This can be cancelled without charge if we are able to move you off the waitlist and into an open room at Cabra.

Cabra Castle Hotel

At this time, all guaranteed rooms at Cabra Castle have been reserved. If you are interested in being added to the waitlist at Cabra Castle please email polzinandhisqueen@gmail.com and info@emeraldaisleevents.com with your contact info (name, phone, and email), and dates you would like to stay (ie: 5/24, 5/25, 5/26). We have a limited number of rooms on our block for the night before and after the wedding so we cannot guarantee at this time that all requests will be able to be fulfilled. However, more rooms will release closer to the date of the wedding. In the meantime, we ask you to reserve a room at the Shirley Arms Hotel, our overflow hotel, which can be canceled or changed at anytime. These rooms are not reserved in a block, so we recommend booking this as soon as possible to guarantee a room. Transportation will be provided from the Shirley Arms Hotel to the castle for all wedding events. Rooms are released from other blocks at Cabra Castle six to eight weeks prior to the event, so our intention will be to pull as many people out of the overflow hotel as possible at that time.
