A Pittsburgh classic
Pittsburgh is famous for it's funiculars and the Duquesne Incline is the best! The view at the top is AMAZING - just ask Samuel!
Ask Samuel about this one! A super fun spot for kids. They not only have lots of science-related activities and exhibits, but they also have a submarine you can explore and a sports room with a rock climbing wall and other cool things.
A lovely option - ideal for younger children. Older children might be a bit bored. Laura and her sister have been here countless times with the kids. They have a great exhibit dedicated to Mr. Rogers (a Pittsburgh native).
Laura adores the National Aviary! In addition to the immersive bird habitats, they offer up-close experiences with flamingos, penguins, and other birds for a fee. Highly recommended.
The Pirates are playing the Cubs this weekend at home. PNC Park has one of THE BEST views of the city! Sections 313 and 316 are pretty great.
These are a great way to see Pittsburgh! A little cheesy, but also fun and you learn a lot (Laura just went on one two years ago!)
Apparently, they're doing a reenactment at Point State Park (where the three rivers come together) on Saturday, August 17. See this URL! https://www.heinzhistorycenter.org/events/living-history-fort-pitt-garrison-drill-aug-17
This is Pittsburgh's theater and gallery district. It has a few fun restaurants and bars, and several theaters and galleries.
The Strip District is a cool, somewhat busy spot in Pittsburgh to check out on a weekend afternoon. Lots of little shops and restaurants. Not a ton of activities, but a neat part of town if you're into exploring.
Station Square is where the Duquesne Incline and Ducky Tours start. A good spot for river watching, eating and drinking.
