Danny joined Miranda's Skeleton Rep Theatre Company as a last minute replacement for a summer show. By the time he performed his third series with the group that Winter, it was clear that there was something special in the making. Several months later, as Covid-19 descended on New York City, Miranda packed her bags and came to wait out this "two week virus" at Danny's uptown apartment (he had a very-not-sketchy private entrance, which seemed safer given the airborne nature of the virus.) Five months later, Miranda still lived at Danny's uptown, and their relationship was solid as a rock. In the summer of 2021, they bid farewell to the concept of roommates (and Miranda said goodbye to her beloved Brooklyn), and they moved into their own apartment back uptown.

Danny and Miranda booked a wonderful cabin in the Catskill Mountains for a weekend getaway. As the fire master of the relationship, Miranda built a fire in the evening, while Danny sipped a cocktail and watched. He suggested that they take a self portrait to capture the mountain views. But when he stood behind her and prepared to trigger the camera, instead he got down on one knee - and then entirely blacked out and didn't hear her say yes the first time.
