The Georgia Aquarium is a great place to escape the heat and watch the fish swim about. They are also one of the few aquariums in the world that house not one, but four, whale sharks! The behind the scenes tours are worth it if you have an extra hour.
Atlanta is the birthplace of Coca-Cola. This museum houses all sorts of marketing posters, old bottles, and other memorabilia from years back to today. And you get to try all sorts of coke (soda or pop) that they have to offer!
There are many events, concerts, and games that are held here year round. Not only is this the home of the Atlanta Falcons, but it is also home to Atlanta United (major league soccer). You can also see the stadium that led Andrew to search for a stress outlet!
If you love baseball, what better way to spend a summer day than at the park? Sun Trust Park is the home of the Atlanta Braves. Be sure to check out the Hank Aaron memorial or the kids zone inside the stadium!

Philips Arena is where the Atlanta Hawks call home. The Philips Arena connects to the CNN Center as well.

The views are gorgeous! This hike can be demanding if you travel to the bottom of the gorge. Be prepared to walk back up the 1,000+ steps. But I can attest that the views are worth the climb back out. Just bring extra water!
